In the Shinobi World, deep within the remote mountains of the Land of Rivers, a vast underground hall had been constructed.
Located in the very center of the hall stood a colossal statue.
Although every detail of its body was rendered with lifelike precision, including eight vivid arms, its face was completely blank—it was a faceless statue.
This stark contrast created an inexplicably sinister and eerie atmosphere.
What made ordinary people tremble with fear was that beneath the statue lay a massive pool of blood, nearly ten meters long!
Bright red blood filled the pool, emitting a terrifying, pungent stench.
A middle-aged man in his forties or fifties stood before the blood pool, took a deep breath, and immediately wore an expression of pure enjoyment.
Clutching a necklace with a circular outer frame and a triangular center, a hint of madness appeared on his aged face. He commanded in a hoarse voice, "The auspicious hour has arrived! Bring all the offerings forward at once!"
"Yes!"
As the High Priest gave the order, the expressions of the dozens of cultists around him turned equally fanatical, and they began dumping corpse after corpse into the blood pool.
It wasn't just corpses; there were all sorts of venomous creatures as well, such as centipedes, spiders, and poisonous snakes.
They had been preparing for this annual Jashin Cult festival for several days, and now, the auspicious hour had finally arrived!
The High Priest raised his hands frantically, the thick, murky scent of blood almost enveloping his entire being, while a crimson glint appeared in his eyes.
"Great, omnipotent, and eternal Lord Jashin!"
"We offer you our hymns, our praises, and our sacrifices!"
"Please cast a glance from the distant unknown and bestow your blessings upon us!"
As soon as the High Priest finished speaking, all the cultists knelt in unison, slamming their heads heavily against the ground as they shouted:
"Great! Omnipotent! Eternal Lord Jashin!"
"We offer you our hymns, our praises, and our sacrifices!"
"Please cast a glance from the distant unknown and bestow your blessings upon us!"
Suddenly, a bizarre aura descended upon the temple, as if something from the void had cast its gaze upon them.
An immense pressure weighed down on everyone's hearts, leaving them terrified, yet at the same time, feeling incomparably ecstatic!
The High Priest's breathing grew heavy; his expression shifted from shock to immense surprise, then to excitement, and finally to madness!
Lord Jashin had finally cast his gaze!
In the entire Jashin Cult, if there was anyone who could truly receive the blessing of Jashin, that person was undoubtedly himself!
The blood pool suddenly began to boil, and a figure slowly rose from within it.
"It's done! I've mastered it!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
A burst of maniacal laughter echoed throughout the entire hall.
The madness on the High Priest's face came to an abrupt halt.
He clearly remembered that everyone thrown into the blood pool was dead, so why...
A boy who looked only eleven or twelve years old slowly walked out of the blood pool, stumbling as he moved, occasionally performing strange gestures while muttering incessantly:
"I did it! I finally mastered it!"
"You brat..."
The High Priest narrowed his eyes slightly, then suddenly widened them; he seemed to recognize this fellow!
"Wait, you're Hidan, aren't you? When did you sneak into the blood pool?!"
"Huh? Hidan?"
The other cultists also wore expressions of disbelief.
Hidan, covered from head to toe in blood, reached out and used the gore to slick his hair back, revealing a grin.
"High Priest, I'm no longer just a trainee of the Jashin Cult; I am now the most loyal representative of Lord Jashin!"
He spread his arms wide and let out a wildly arrogant laugh.
The High Priest was stunned for a moment before coming to his senses, his face shocked as he said, "You mean to say... you have received the favor of Lord Jashin?"
"That's right!"
Hidan stuck out his tongue, licked the blood off his hand, and said coldly, "As of now, I am the darling of Lord Jashin!"
The High Priest froze.
Why?
Lord Jashin!
I was clearly the one who came first!
Before he could even speak, the blood pool began to boil once more.
"Hmm?"
Hidan turned his head away in annoyance; he hated it when someone interrupted him while he was showing off.
Another figure emerged from the pool of blood.
He was incredibly pale, looking as white as a sheet of paper. He walked out of the blood pool with his upper body bare, his black hair plastered against his skin, and he even wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses.
"It is a pleasure to meet you all. My name is Kamizuki Simu; you can just call me Simu."
Where on earth did this guy pop out from?
The cult leader and the other followers exchanged bewildered glances.
Hidan was an orphan raised by the Jashin Cult since he was a child, but where did this guy come from?
He looked so handsome that he clearly couldn't have any real strength!
Before they could speak, the arrogant Hidan looked at Simu with a displeased expression.
"Who the hell are you?"
Simu, who had slowly walked out of the blood pool, smiled slightly and spoke in a calm tone: "I am the chief representative sent by Lord Jashin."
As expected, Hidan flew into a rage instantly.
He had just claimed to be the representative of Jashin, and now this guy was calling himself the chief representative?
Wasn't this just coming here to wreck the place?
Hidan couldn't tolerate this for a second. He pulled a pitch-black spear from out of nowhere and charged back toward the blood pool.
"Lord Jashin only loves me! You fake, go to hell!"
Hidan brandished his spear, erupting with terrifying speed as he rushed toward Simu.
Facing this onslaught, Simu merely pushed up his glasses slowly, and an incredibly massive purple centipede suddenly sprouted from his waist!
The purple shadow expanded wildly. In the dim light, Hidan had nowhere to hide!
Or perhaps he had no intention of hiding at all.
The massive centipede tail carried a gust of wind and instantly pierced through Hidan's chest!
Horrifying blood sprayed from the wound, and the centipede writhed its body in delight, looking extremely satisfied.
This scene left everyone stunned.
Good grief, the newly born representative of Jashin had been finished off in a single exchange?
However, the cult leader's expression remained relatively calm.
If he were truly the representative of Jashin, he should...
Sure enough, instead of showing the pain of being pierced through, Hidan's face broke into a joyful smile.
"Hahahaha, it feels good, it feels so good!"
Hidan stared into Simu's eyes, his mouth curling into a crazed arc as he reached a state of ecstasy.
"As a true devotee of Jashin, I possess an immortal body!"
He finished boasting about his ability as if showing off, then turned his spear around and stabbed it hard into the centipede, drawing out a large amount of purple blood.
Simu frowned and manipulated the centipede tail to sweep Hidan away, slamming him heavily into the ground.
But this kind of damage couldn't cause Hidan any pain; it only made him more delighted.
He picked up his long blade and, as if savoring fine wine, stuck out his tongue to lick the blood off the spear.
Blood continued to spill from the wound in his chest, but he didn't care in the slightest.
He simply went about his business, using the soles of his feet to smear the blood and draw a pattern on the ground consisting of a circle with a triangle inside.
This was the very symbol of the Jashin Cult.
The cult leader's pupils constricted instinctively when he saw the pattern.
Combined with Hidan's lack of reaction to having his chest pierced moments ago, he was almost certain that this guy had truly received the favor of Lord Jashin!
Sure enough, after completing the ritual of drawing the pattern and licking the blood, Hidan's body underwent a earth-shattering transformation once again.
His entire body first turned pitch black, and then a multitude of white markings appeared on his skin, making him look incredibly eerie!
That actually fits the aesthetic of Jashin, Simu thought to himself while standing in the blood pool.
Hidan stared fixedly at Simu, saying in a delirious tone: "Kid, are you ready to welcome the arrival of Lord Jashin?"
"Jujutsu: Shiji Hyoketsu!"
"And then."
A crazed smile appeared on Hidan's face once more.
"How do you want to die?"
"Shall we start with a stab to the abdomen?"
With that, he plunged the long blade in his hand into his own stomach without the slightest hesitation.
The long blade pierced through his abdomen, yet an expression of immense pleasure bloomed on the face of Hidan.
Simu, however, furrowed his brows, because the centipede tail he had named Weihe had sustained damage out of thin air.
The thick exoskeleton was sliced open cleanly, and purple blood flowed out from it.
Is the ability of the Jashin Ritual to reflect the damage one receives onto someone else?
Simu made the deduction almost instantly.
Because if the location of the injury on Weihe were mapped onto a human body, it would correspond exactly to the abdomen.
This really is an incredible ability, what a pity.
Since that is the case.
Under the gaze of Hidan, the pretty boy opposite him indeed let out a muffled groan, then clutched his abdomen in pain.
Although it was slower than he had imagined, one thing was certain: Lord Jashin had not deceived him!
Of course, Simu had just stepped out of the blood pool and was covered in blood from head to toe, so no one noticed whether his abdomen had actually been injured or was bleeding.
Seeing Simu injured, Hidan was clearly even more invigorated.
"After the abdomen, next up is the heart!"
He grinned as he aimed the long blade in his hand at his heart, exerting so much force that his eyeballs seemed to bulge outward.
"Are you ready?"
"Puchi!"
Under the incredulous gaze of everyone, the spear pierced through his heart once again.
"Hahahahaha!"
Even though blood continued to pour from Hidan's body, he remained ecstatic.
He spread his arms wide and held them high, shouting, "Lord Jashin, this is the first sacrifice I offer to you!"
"If Lord Jashin knew that you only played these circus tricks, he would likely be very disappointed."
Simu's indifferent voice caused the smile on Hidan's face to freeze instantly.
He looked at Simu, only to see Simu pluck the now-dead centipede off and toss it casually into the blood pool, then sneer:
"If you think that kind of soft, non-threatening self-mutilation—which carries less risk than choking to death on a piece of cream cake—could kill me, you had best crawl back into your mother's womb to apologize to Lord Jashin."
"What did you say?"
Hidan's expression turned ferocious in an instant, and just as he raised his long blade to charge at Simu once more, a red blood-shadow tore through the air, cleanly slicing Hidan's entire head off.
A foot suddenly appeared, stepping down onto Hidan's rolling head.
"Do you really think you're worthy of being Lord Jashin's dog?"
