Venerable Jiyin is a Soul Hall elder stationed in the Northwest Continent. From a secret branch within the Chu Yun Empire, he oversees the regional soul-collection operation and commands Soul Hall protectors such as Tie Ying. His branch operates through local assets including the Wanxie Sect. 30

After Tie Ying diverts Wanxie Sect resources toward accommodating Ning Chen and the Little Fairy Doctor, Jiyin summons and interrogates him over the resulting month-long slowdown in soul collection. Tie Ying reports that “Hun Chen” ordered the operation halted and invoked Soul Hall Master Hun Miesheng’s name. 30

The revelation unsettles Jiyin: Hun Miesheng is the true name of Soul Hall’s supreme Hall Master, a Dou Sheng. Unable to determine whether “Hun Chen” is a Soul Clan figure or an extraordinarily dangerous impostor, Jiyin chooses caution and personally visits the Wanxie Sect. 31

Ning Chen convinces Jiyin that he is a Soul Clan prodigy undergoing restrictive training under the fictional Hun Xuzi. Venerable Jiyin is a black-robed figure frequently concealed by dense black mist. His presence is markedly more tyrannical and sinister than Tie Protector’s, and he is associated with the ghostly atmosphere of Soul Hall’s hidden branch. 30 31

He is also highly cautious. Although suspicious of “Hun Chen,” Jiyin recognizes that anyone who knows Hun Miesheng’s true name may be too dangerous to provoke. Rather than act on anger, he investigates personally and adjusts his conduct once the risks become clear. 31

His defining weakness is ambition. After accepting Ning Chen’s fabricated identity, Jiyin willingly risks Soul Hall’s iron laws by embezzling soul offerings, convinced that assisting the “young master” will elevate his own position within the Soul Hall and Soul Clan. 33
