Background
Lin Feng transmigrated into the cultivation world roughly six thousand years ago and awakened as an outer disciple of the Xuanqing Sect. Initially lost and uneasy, he was cared for by his master and senior sisters; their guidance allowed him to establish himself and begin cultivating in secrecy 1 241.
He was immortal from the moment of his transmigration. Rather than pursuing longevity, he cultivated to gain strength. Every thousand years, he must enter a deep slumber lasting from more than a decade to several decades; while asleep, he cultivates in dreams at an extraordinary rate 1.
His long-term survival strategy was to remain unknown, prepare contingencies, and avoid unnecessary danger. He maintained numerous hidden residences, operated under alternate identities such as Lin Ye, and made extensive use of masks, hoods, arrays, seals, and false trails 71 102 116.
Before his sixth slumber, Lin Feng selected a cave in the Primordial Mountain Range and surrounded it with layered killing arrays, traps, magical treasures, talismans, and a heavenly-secret-concealing technique 1. His diary became exposed during this period, turning the once-obscure cultivator into a figure revered across the Nine Provinces.
Appearance
Lin Feng has the appearance of a handsome, slender youth despite being over six thousand years old. He is commonly seen in white robes and is described as approachable rather than outwardly overbearing 1 99 104.
- Appears to be a youthful teenager 1.
- Possesses a handsome face and a notably good physique 67.
- Often wears white robes; his clothing is usually magical treasure-grade attire 99 137.
- His body became crystalline and jade-like after opening the Heavenly Pool Ancestral Palace 136.
- His eyes turned scarlet after cultivating a different Great Dao, though he remained himself 237.
Personality
Lin Feng is defined by caution. He spent millennia hiding his identity, establishing escape routes and safe houses, and preparing overwhelming defenses before entering seclusion. Even his many disguises were deliberately designed to prevent others from recognizing him across repeated encounters 1 102 116.
Despite this restraint, he is confident, playful, and occasionally narcissistic. He enjoys teasing companions, uses humor in dangerous situations, and readily acknowledges his own charm or strength when it suits him 67 169 260. His confidence is generally backed by meticulous preparation rather than recklessness.
He remains deeply attached to Xuanqing Sect and protective of his companions. He left the sect a superior cultivation scripture, created a cultivation secret realm for its future disciples, and repeatedly risks himself to confront threats to the Nine Provinces and the Immortal Mansions 47 104 140.
