Background / History

Gu Wanqing is the eldest daughter of Jianghai's Gu Family and the childhood betrothed of Lin Ao, heir to the Lin Family. Their grandfathers arranged the engagement, and although she secretly liked Lin Ao from childhood, his outward coldness and indifference convinced her that he viewed the marriage only as a business arrangement. 1 3

Xiao Fan, then a security guard in her company, saved her from thugs and gradually became someone she trusted. He repeatedly reinforced her doubts about Lin Ao, eventually influencing her decision to seek an annulment. 3 13

After touching Lin Ao, Gu Wanqing awakens a mysterious status-panel ability and regains memories of prior timelines in which she repeatedly saw Lin Ao die at the hands of Xiao Fan and others.
