With a sudden exertion of strength, he discovered that the jade pillow would not budge at all! Fred North cried out in surprise and quickly called Dark and the others over.
The group took turns trying, but all could only shake their heads.
The jade pillow seemed to have taken root at the head of the bed; no matter what they did, they could not pull it out. Pouring magic power into it produced no reaction whatsoever.
"What if... we just flip the whole bed over?" Fred North could not help suggesting.
The others exchanged glances and realized that Fred had, unusually enough, come up with a good idea. Yet the bed was completely fixed in place as well, and could not be moved at all.
Before they could no longer resist tearing the bed apart completely, Aurora suddenly suggested, "Shouldn't we find someone to lie on it and give it a try?"
Dark's thoughts stirred as he recalled the "scabbard" and Demeter's Skirt. "It's worth trying."
As he spoke, he looked around.
Fred North swallowed and volunteered, "How about me?"
Dark nodded. "Thank you."
"It's fine." Fred North replied, then climbed onto Hermes's bed again. He rested his head on the jade pillow and carefully lay down.
What did it feel like to sleep on the bed of Hermes, one of the Twelve Heavenly Gods?
Fred North wanted very much to say something about it. But in truth, there was nothing particularly special about the sensation.
Only the chill of the jade pillow seeped into his mind, making him feel unusually clear-headed.
Then, following Dark's instructions, he guided his magic power into the pillow and the bed... At that moment, a strange sensation suddenly arose, and he abruptly looked up at the ceiling overhead.
