Fortunately, those who knew the situation were not the type to spread it around carelessly, and "Elf Princess" Lucia would not reveal it lightly for the sake of maintaining stability.
—Probably.
Dark could not help glancing at Robert before immediately looking away.
Even Robert should know what mattered and what did not, right?
They waited for at least half an hour.
Just as Robert and Victor were beginning to grow restless, sounds finally came from inside the laboratory.
Dark looked up, immediately walked toward the laboratory, and pushed open the door. "How did it go?" he asked Lucia in a low voice.
Lucia looked visibly more relaxed. "The curse was successfully lifted. The Witch of the Silver Moon truly lives up to her name."
Dark nodded. Fortunately, the incident had not continued developing in the worst possible direction.
If even Professor Medea had been unable to remove it, they would have had to raise their assessment of the curse's severity by another level.
As things stood, at least the Prairie Elf's soul had a chance of being repaired.
Even so, blankness would remain blank after being filled in. Even if the Prairie Elf woke up, it would still suffer the aftereffects of "amnesia."
But the Dream Machine existed precisely for this purpose.
As long as the Prairie Elf's memories had not been completely lost, the Dream Machine could be used to extrapolate more "memories." Those "memories" might not be real, but they were naturally generated by the brain and would generally not differ too greatly. They could only patch up logical gaps, however; they could not truly "restore memories."
But achieving even that much would already be a great success. As soon as the curse was lifted, Professor Steven Harvey and Professor Kazel immediately began repairing the Prairie Elf's soul.
