Background / History

Victor entered Saint Marian Academy knowing little about his parents; as a child, he admitted that he did not even know what they looked like. He nevertheless believed that, as the son of the Hero, he ought to be noble and righteous, and initially hoped to befriend Dark because Dark was the Valkyrie's son. 4

His parentage was later revealed to be far more complicated. Victor is the child of Hero Bright Gaude and Blood Princess Ophelia Brad. Because Ophelia had undergone the Demon King's First Embrace, Demon King blood also passed into Victor, explaining his ability to read Into the Abyss and his unusual affinity for Dungeon Monster and Demon Race Magitech Cards. 484 1050

Victor was raised under severe restrictions in an orphanage before Principal Arte brought him to Saint Marian; without that intervention, he might have been transferred to Holy Rite Academy for further surveillance. 1050

During his first year, Victor secretly used his own blood as a catalyst in Magitech Alchemy, believing Hero blood was improving his refinement results. His blood was also exploited by a Demon King-derived entity that emerged around Christmas, copied Victor's memories, and cultivated Demon Race creatures through nighttime experiments. 1041 1043 1044

The entity was initially mistaken for Victor's second personality. Professor Sylph's investigation established that it was an independent soul created from Demon King blood rather than Victor's genuine consciousness. Victor's own soul was later found to be intertwined with the Demon King's soul, making separation difficult and leaving him deeply traumatized by the truth of his lineage. 1043 1050

Victor is restless, image-conscious, and highly responsive to other people's opinions. Principal Arte compares these traits to those of his father: he is empathetic, easily influenced, and often shaken by what happens around him. 20 66

His early competitive record was uneven. Emma defeated him in an in-class match, and Diana eliminated him from a later tournament after resisting Forbidden Love; nevertheless, his development of the Troll, Goblin Warrior, and Radiant Python showed tangible growth. 34 100 102
