Dark nodded and said politely, "Hello, senior."
The upperclassman smiled, looking quite pleased. "Although I'm from Fool House, I can still be considered your senior. My name is Leon. If your classmates also need any Costume Change Cards, you can come directly to the common room of Fool House to find me."
Dark asked curiously, "Does the Fool House common room not have a curfew?"
Leon explained, "Of course it does, but our door lady is very hospitable. As long as you bring a gift—oh, I mean, bring a small bottle of lubricant—you can get her to open the door for you."
Dark was surprised. "Lub, lubricant?"
"Ahem!" Leon looked away, embarrassed. "Anyway, that's how it is. Since you're a freshman in Noble House, I recommend this Vampire Set! It's been the most popular series of costumes in Noble House. I even injected sweet blood plasma into the fangs; as long as you channel magic power into them, they can actually bleed!"
"That sounds pretty good."
Dark lowered his gaze and flipped through the Vampire Set. He found it was the traditional red and black color scheme; it was nice, but he felt something was missing.
He asked casually, "Do you have a Demon King Set?"
Leon's expression stiffened. "I do have a Hero Set. By the way, I remember a student who claims to be the Son of the Hero came this year. Is he in your academy?"
Dark replied, "Knight Academy."
"A knight, huh?" Leon sighed. "I really wish he would wear my Kamen Rider Set."
Dark was startled. "Kamen Rider Set?"
"Yes," Leon said proudly. "That was a very famous hero from when the demon race still existed. He used a special belt; as long as you insert a Costume Change Card into the belt, you can transform into a Kamen Rider. It's very similar to the current Holy Armor series of Magitech Cards. Do you know the Valkyrie Alvitr? She is one of the holders of the Twelve Golden Holy Armors."
Dark certainly knew the Valkyrie, and he had even seen her complaining about how tight her Holy Armor was.
The so-called "Holy Armor" was very similar to "Saint Cloths." The Twelve Golden Holy Armors were designed based on the twelve constellations and could amplify the user's strength and speed by a hundredfold!
→The Valkyrie wearing her Holy Armor is the true Valkyrie!
Dark couldn't help but feel some interest in the Kamen Rider Set.
But the more he looked at it, the more something felt wrong.
Why does this Kamen Rider Set that Leon made look like a Beelzebub Set?
Forget it, forget it. Better to go with something more ordinary!
This kind of full-body suit really hinders mobility. If he planned to go all out on Halloween, it would be better to choose a lighter costume.
For instance, this "Tuxedo Mask Set" looked quite good.
A black tuxedo, white glasses, a deep red cape, white gloves, and even a blood-red rose!
And it only cost 33 credits.
"I'll take this one."
Dark didn't overthink it; if it didn't work out, he could just change it later.
Senior Leon wasn't unhappy that he chose the cheapest Costume Change Card; instead, he patiently explained how to engrave the final transmutation circle onto the card.
Dark felt he had learned quite a bit.
These 33 credits were worth it!
But just before he left, Senior Leon suddenly called him back. "Right, here's a Love Divination Card as a gift. Enjoy your youth!"
Holding the Love Divination Card gifted by Senior Leon, Dark felt a bit unsettled.
Senior Leon seems quite honest, and he's a student of Fool House; he doesn't look like the type to lie. So, could these Love Divination Cards really have been distributed by Professor Kazel?
Professor Kazel certainly possesses exquisite Magitech skills, but does he... have this kind of taste?
Dark carefully examined the still-exquisite Flower Card in his hand. He really couldn't imagine Professor Kazel, with his goblin heritage, being able to create something like this.
Moreover, according to Senior Leon, Professor Kazel had simply distributed the Flower Cards to them, telling them to give them to people they found agreeable.
The number of Flower Cards was actually quite limited; this was Senior Leon's last one.
Dark couldn't think of any common factor between himself and Diana. He wandered around the Wonder Candy Shop again and bought some toffee, and sure enough, he received another Flower Card!
Then he went to the flower shop, the jewelry store, the clothing store...
Some shops gave him a Flower Card, while others had already run out.
After a full round of shopping, including the one gifted by Senior Leon, he had obtained a total of eight Flower Cards.
Adding the one he already had, that made nine!
"Nine Flower Cards—that's quite a bountiful harvest."
Before the sun set, Dark left Traveler Street.
As he walked out of the Lake Pavilion, he happened to cross paths with Victor and Robert.
The two children seemed to have lost their previous friction and were back to playing and bickering together.
"Come to think of it, have they finished their homework?"
Dark was puzzled.
(( д)(д ))
As for whether Victor and Robert actually went to the library, and whether they actually finished their homework there.
Dark only felt a slight sense of doubt, but he did not intend to get to the bottom of it.
Holding nine Flower Cards in his hand gave him more leeway in controlling "Bliss." But if these Flower Cards were truly created by Professor Kazel, he wanted to understand and master the method of making them!
On one hand, it was to have a stable source of Flower Cards.
On the other hand, he was very curious as to why these Flower Cards could absorb "Bliss"!
But if he were to just go and ask Professor Kazel like that, it would seem a bit abrupt.
Dark pondered for a moment and quickly remembered that he still had a Thought Bottle that he hadn't returned yet.
So, he quickened his pace, preparing to return to his dormitory first to retrieve the Thought Bottle.
The common room on a Friday night is generally the liveliest time.
Students vent the academic pressure accumulated throughout the entire week, without having to worry about homework or class hours. After all, it was only Friday; homework could be left for tomorrow, and class time was something to consider only the day after tomorrow.
Even the common room of the Noble House was no exception to this custom.
Dark wove through the crowd, dodging Diana's gaze, which felt like she was hunting a mouse, and successfully slipped into his dormitory.
The dormitory was very quiet, showing no difference from when he had left.
He closed the door, turned on the light, and walked toward the desk.
The Thought Bottle was placed in the desk drawer; he would just grab it and go.
But just as he got his hands on it, he suddenly heard a meow in his ear.
This made him unable to help but turn and walk toward the balcony.
"Has the Meow Meow Grass woken up?"
He pulled open the door and looked down at the Meow Meow Grass on the balcony.
Then, there was silence.
On the balcony.
The Meow Meow Grass was using its two paw pads to claw at the drooping Insect Branch, its small, pink tongue licking and sucking on the tip of the Insect Branch back and forth.
The Insect Branch, which had been injected with three drops of "Pride" and should have become very hard, had actually turned back into a limp, soft state!
[Wrath +1]
He hadn't expected that what he had just earned in the afternoon would be paid back in the evening.
"Meow--"
The Meow Meow Grass, however, was completely unaware that its master had lost control in a fit of rage, and after dropping the Insect Branch, it trotted toward Dark.
The tail-stem of the Meow Meow Grass was still quite long, enough for it to run to Dark's feet.
Dark crouched down and picked it up onto his lap, wondering whether it would be better to squeeze juice or pet it tonight?
He then suddenly noticed a faint mark on the forehead of the Meow Meow Grass.
"The Crest of Pride?"
Dark frowned, and the anger in his heart quickly subsided.
After checking it repeatedly, he confirmed that it was indeed the Crest of Pride. But what was surprising was that the Meow Meow Grass did not display the "pride" that the DemiDevimon and Eevee had shown.
"Could it be because it's a plant?"
Dark fell into deep thought, letting the Meow Meow Grass bite his finger and suck on it gently.
"Come to think of it, how does a life form like the Meow Meow Grass even exist?"
Dark's eyes flickered, and he then drew "Pride 1" from his card pack.
"Magic Guidance Summon!"
A dark golden ball of light flew out from "Pride 1" and then submerged into the top of the Meow Meow Grass's head.
But this Magitech Card, which could make people arrogant, still did not produce any effect.
"I'll go to the library and look it up!"
Dark took a breath, put the Meow Meow Grass down, and then moved the Insect Tree inside.
A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit.
Tomorrow, he would go to Traveler Street to buy a protective fence to isolate the Insect Tree, and by the way, get some fur balls or something for the Meow Meow Grass to amuse itself with.
Dark took some notes and realized that he was busy again.
"Should we go to the library first, or go find the professor?"
"Let's go with the professor!"
"It won't be too late to go to the library tonight."
Professor Kazel was not in his office.
Dark then headed to the laboratory.
As expected, he saw Professor Kazel in the laboratory, busy crafting a Magitech Card.
However, he wasn't making a Jack-o'-Lantern today; instead, he was using bandages and a mannequin to create a Mummy.
Dark was thinking about how to bring up the topic naturally, so he pulled out the Mandala Flower Card as he pushed the door open and entered.
"Dimon? Are you here to borrow a laboratory? The key to the adjacent lab is in the second drawer of my office desk."
Professor Kazel looked very focused.
Dark didn't place the Thought Bottle on the lab table until he had walked over, saying, "Professor, I'm here to return this."
"The Thought Bottle?" Professor Kazel glanced back and smiled, "You could have used it for a while longer."
Dark: "No, Professor. I've already bought an Insect Tree."
He had intended to start by chatting about emotions and thoughts before transitioning into the Love Divination Card.
But the moment Professor Kazel saw the Flower Card in his hand, he said without a second thought: "What, have you become interested in these Flower Cards too?"
Dark frowned slightly in his heart and replied immediately: "Yes, Professor. I have been wondering, does the so-called divination of these Flower Cards involve peering into the mental realm?"
Professor Kazel was slightly taken aback, then began to laugh even more heartily.
He set down his work, took off his experimental gloves, and smiled: "I really didn't expect your research into the mental realm to have reached such a level."
