Chapter 90: Ghosts Descend on Saint Marian's Castle

Emma Mortis propped her chin on her hand, idly flipping through The Golden King and the Secret Treasure on the desk. Her eyes, however, kept drifting toward the front left. She didn't know when the upperclassman librarian had become involved with the duke's son. Dark Demon, who used to avoid the counter, had gradually started stopping there for a minute or two. Emma had heard plenty of rumors about Senior Pandora Dragon. She hadn't gone out of her way to investigate, but sitting in the Knight Academy's common room meant that rumors about her would find their way to Emma's ears now and then. Whenever they spoke of Senior Pandora, they always did so with awe and admiration, as though she weren't a fellow student but... well, a goddess. Pah! Would a goddess shamelessly cling to someone like that? Emma scoffed.

Dark glanced sideways at the ball invitation Senior Pandora had personally handed him, wondering where on earth someone had bought an envelope like that. But the senior's fingers really were pale, and her nails were long and narrow. He couldn't help feeling that they could easily scratch deep into someone's heart. "Want it?" Pandora tested his resolve, her breath carrying a faint fragrance as it brushed his nose. Dark didn't hesitate for even a moment before pushing the invitation back to her.

"You're getting pretty good at this, aren't you?"

Pandora casually took the invitation back. It was actually blank inside, but she lowered her brows and managed to squeeze out a hint of disappointment. Her slender fingers quietly pointed toward Emma behind Dark, while she leaned forward again to whisper in his ear. "Could it be her?" Dark frowned. This was the second time Senior Pandora had paired him up
