Background / History

The Qilin's father was the first Sacred Beast Qilin born in the Dimension Battlefield, while his mother was human. During her pregnancy, his father exhausted his heart's blood to purify the unborn Qilin's bloodline and ease her suffering. Weakened, he and the Qilin's mother were hunted by the Hundred Races; she died giving birth, and his father buried their pursuers with the Land of Fallen Immortals before apparently following her in death. The infant Qilin was sealed into an egg and thrown into the Human World when the relic fell from the Dimension Battlefield. 93

He absorbed Human World spiritual energy for six thousand years before hatching. Unable to control his aura, he was pursued by Supreme Dao Sect cultivators seeking to make him their guardian beast; their pursuit diverted the sect's strongest experts and indirectly gave the Feather Transformation Sect time to survive and grow. 9 17 79 93

Seeking answers about his parents, the Qilin visited Lin Jiufeng at the Scripture Pavilion and asked for help opening the Land of Fallen Immortals beneath the Extreme North Icefield. In the Immortal Burial Ground, he found his parents' coffin empty and later learned through his father's Blood-Colored Stele that his father had taken his mother through the Sky-Opening Well toward the Heavenly Realm. 93 94 96

Following the expedition, he declared Lin Jiufeng his first friend and performed the Qilin Sacred Fire Baptism despite the heavy cost to himself. Once recovered, he ascended to the Dimension Battlefield with Lin Jiufeng, where the pair cultivated, worked as bounty hunters, and fought through Cloud Dream Marsh and the Hundred Races War. 97 112 127 131
