Background / History
Rocks was born into the persecuted Davy Clan, descendants of Davy D. Jones. He used his mother's surname, “Rocks,” while the surviving Davy Clan hid under assumed identities after centuries of World Government persecution. He later disclosed this heritage only to King Harald of Elbaf. 77
As captain of the Rocks Pirates, he built a crew around strength, ambition, and war merit rather than loyalty. He viewed weaker captains as expendable, while considering high-level executives such as Whitebeard, Shiki, Linlin, Silver Axe, Ochoku, and John essential to his plan to overthrow the World Government. 4
Rocks accepted Luo Tian into the crew after witnessing his power, then personally elevated him to executive despite objections from veteran members. He regarded exceptional strength and ambition as grounds for special privilege. 4 5
He led the successful interception of the Heavenly Tribute, personally confronting Garp while his executives seized the treasure. Following the operation, Rocks rewarded officers according to their contributions and began preparing the crew for an eventual war against the Marines and World Government. 17 23 32 39
Rocks escalated his campaign by ordering the capture of Celestial Dragons alive, intending to publicly humiliate the World Government and undermine its authority. He later deceived the Marines into abandoning Mary Geoise, then led the Rocks Pirates in an assault on the holy land. 45 59 64
The Mary Geoise attack failed after Imu intervened. Rocks concluded that he would need the powers of the Dark God Nika and Sun God Nika to overcome Imu's immortality, but the retreat worsened distrust among his executives. 70 73
At God Valley, Rocks sought to rescue Shakky, acquire treasure and Devil Fruits, and confront the World Government. There, he reunited with his wife Alice and their son Teach while discovering that members of his clan had been transformed into immortal monsters under Imu's control. 76 80 86
Imu's Black Turn Domination corrupted Rocks into Demon Rocks. Though his transformed body attacked allies and civilians indiscriminately, Rocks retained enough consciousness to beg Roger and Garp to kill him. Their combined ultimate attack destroyed the dark domination and left him mortally wounded. His final thoughts were of Alice and Teach. 93 94 96
Appearance
In his normal state, Rocks is a long-haired swordsman who carries an ancient black sword with a demon-fang-shaped crossguard. During his corruption at God Valley, he transformed into a much larger demonic figure. 23 93
- Wields a pitch-black blade referred to as the Black Blade. 23 87
- Possesses long hair that is described as whipping wildly during battle. 23
- Demon Rocks has dark-purple skin, three curved horns, black fleshy wings, and pitch-black eyes. 93
Personality
Rocks is ambitious, calculating, and ruthlessly pragmatic. He seeks not merely dominance of the New World, but the destruction and remaking of the existing world order. His operations against the Heavenly Tribute, Celestial Dragons, and Mary Geoise reflect his willingness to provoke total war to achieve that objective. 23 45 64
He respects strength above all else. This is evident in his immediate recognition of Luo Tian's potential, merit-based distribution of plunder, and tolerance for internal conflict so long as it produces powerful subordinates. 4 5 32 33
Despite his tyranny and grand ambitions, Rocks shows genuine attachment to his family. At God Valley, he risked himself to protect Alice and Teach, held off their pursuers alone, and ultimately pleaded for death after his corruption endangered them. 86 87 94 96

- Survived repeated attacks from Roger and Garp due to his materialized Conqueror's Haki defense. 94 95
