Background / History

Bei Bei and Tang Ya were nearly killed while hunting a thousand-year Mandala Snake, after Bei Bei was poisoned through his own carelessness. A passing Soul Emperor rescued them and helped secure the soul ring. Bei Bei subsequently confessed to Tang Ya, and the two became a couple 8.

After Tang Ya was disfigured and left Shrek Academy, Bei Bei fell into despair. He vowed upon his martial soul—and wished for the Sea God to bear witness—that he would pay any price to restore her appearance. His desperation led him to accompany Huo Yuhao toward the Far North in search of healing resources 8 12.

During the journey, Bei Bei's Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul reacted to a light-attribute presence. Its underlying potential was to evolve into the Light Holy Dragon inherited through his bloodline, although he had initially awakened only the lower-level Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon 20 24 88.

Following the Far North expedition, he continued to support Huo Yuhao through soul hunts and regional conflicts despite repeatedly being injured or incapacitated. Huo Yuhao saved his life on several occasions, creating a debt Bei Bei could not easily repay 101 120 222.

Bei Bei was later ambushed and captured by Eunuch Gao, acting under the identity of the Death God Messenger. Huo Yuhao subjected the unconscious Bei Bei to a Holy Spirit Cult baptism ritual, turning his developing dragon martial soul into the Evil Dragon 531 532. Long Xiaoyao recovered him afterward, became his master, and helped him adapt to the transformation. Bei Bei resolved not to let his evil attribute dictate his actions, while seeking the Death God Messenger in hopes of reversing the change 572.

Bei Bei was originally known as a refined, elegant youth with an iconic head of blue hair and the bearing of a “jade-like young gentleman” 101 884. His Evil Dragon transformation changed both his features and presence drastically.

Bei Bei is protective, earnest, and deeply loyal to those he considers family. Tang Ya's suffering drives him to make a sincere martial-soul oath to sacrifice everything for her restoration, while his concern for Huo Yuhao repeatedly leads him to act as a guide, protector, and companion 8 101 120.

His transformation into an Evil Soul Master burdens him with guilt and shame. Rather than use his condition as an excuse, he concludes that good and evil are determined by a soul master's heart rather than their attribute. He avoids evil cultivation methods where possible because of their influence on one's character and continues fighting the Holy Spirit Cult despite bearing its Ultimate Evil power himself 572 1217.

Bei Bei remains decisive and ruthless in combat. His fighting style is suited to life-or-death engagements, and he shows far fewer hesitations than opponents who are unwilling to strike with full force 885.

Huo Yuhao's Soul-Hunting Companion

Capture and Evil Dragon Transformation

Eunuch Gao captures Bei Bei with poisonous smoke and delivers him into Huo Yuhao's control 531.
