Sakayanagi Arisu was used to the way he looked at her. His gaze wasn't particularly lecherous; it was more as though he were looking at something else.
"What if the school announces that it's going to punish you?"
She thought Suzuki Toru would take a long time to think about it, or perhaps shake his head with a sigh. She hadn't expected him to answer right away.
"I'd use my Private Points to get the school to withdraw the punishment."
Sakayanagi Arisu fell silent. She had to admit that he had some substance to him.
"But once the school punishes you, your Private Points will all count as ill-gotten gains, won't they?" Kamuro Masumi looked at him as if he were an idiot.
"What if I bribe the school before it announces the punishment?"
Kamuro Masumi was stunned for a moment.
"But you didn't do that." Sakayanagi Arisu suddenly smiled. "Because you think the school won't punish you, so you don't need to worry about it. Am I right?"
Suzuki Toru was silent for a moment. "Since the school wants to simulate society and cultivate genuinely capable people, I think it'll tolerate people who push the rules to some extent."
As Miyabi Nagumo had said, winners could make whatever rules they wanted. From another perspective, the strong could ignore the rules, too.
After all, Suzuki Toru had once witnessed unspoken rules firsthand, and the experience had left a deep impression on him.
If he hadn't had some ability of his own, he might have ended up drinking with some big shot while his entire idol group kept him company.
"Hehe, I think the school would turn a blind eye to this level of rule-pushing." Sakayanagi Arisu smiled.
Suzuki Toru thought luck had probably played a part, too.
"I nearly forgot. The midterms are coming up, so I'll leave Masumi in your hands for now." Sakayanagi Arisu gave him a pointed reminder. "Don't take things too far. I'll still need her later."
"Wait, didn't you promise to help me study?" Kamuro Masumi said, her face darkening. And what did she mean, she'd need her later?
Suzuki Toru was just as speechless. "This is the first time I've seen someone so openly plant a spy by their opponent's side."
"Your opinion of me is rather unfair, Suzuki-kun." Sakayanagi Arisu looked at him, displeased.
"Hey, I haven't agreed to this!" Kamuro Masumi irritably ran a hand through her hair. Why did she feel like an object they were casually trading?
"But I've seen how happy you are with Suzuki-kun, Masumi. Or do you dislike my decision?"
Sakayanagi Arisu wore a beaming smile. As Suzuki Toru's performance had grown more and more impressive, she really had been thinking of having Kamuro Masumi keep an eye on him.
Well, so she wouldn't do something silly like warning Suzuki Toru just now again.
"Who'd be happy with this guy?" Kamuro Masumi complained.
Sakayanagi Arisu blinked. If she didn't want to, why not just refuse?
"Just so we're clear: now that you're handing Kamuro over to me, I can't promise I'll return her in the same condition." Suzuki Toru looked Sakayanagi Arisu in the eye, his expression serious.
"Are you planning to steal what someone else holds dear, Suzuki-kun?" Sakayanagi Arisu said with a sweet smile.
"Not necessarily. I've got my eye on you, too."
A pet might have an owner, but the pet's owner didn't have an owner. That didn't mean he couldn't make a move!
Kamuro Masumi, standing to the side, wanted to cover her face. Could the two of them please stop talking?
She was still right there!
"Hehe, let's talk about that another time. Maybe I'll even indulge some of your interests, Suzuki-kun~"
At the end, Sakayanagi Arisu drew out her words slightly, as if hinting at something. Her eyes were full of teasing.
Tch. One of these days, I'll make you wear cat-paw socks.
Without realizing it, a month had passed since I started this novel. It was finally time to go premium, so let me say a few things.
1. What direction is this novel going in?
I'm sure most of you came here for the mind games and the characters in Classroom of the Elite. To be honest, the author isn't very good at mind games. If even the original can turn out the way it did, there's no telling what a useless person like me might write.
When I graduated from college, I was so dumb I nearly got tricked into becoming a star-chaser, doing unpaid work for someone. So please don't expect too much from me.
2. What will happen in the story later?
You can probably guess from the Wish Machine's wishes. The main story will follow the original, with some character-focused interactions along the way.
As for what those interactions will be, I can't really say.
3. Will there be a harem and steamy scenes?
Ahem. Readers who've read my previous novel already know the answer. New readers who haven't can go pay their respects at the ruins of that battlefield.
This time, though, I'll be a little more serious. The limits will be about the same as in Chapter 13. Nothing too extreme.
4. Your novel is disgusting. Take your trash and get out of here! This is a respectable website!
Sorry. I won't do it again.
5. Your writing sucks. Can I tear you to shreds?
Sure, but whenever I see a negative comment, I hide under the covers at night and shed little pearls.
6. There are serious problems with your details. For example, the school shouldn't have revealed the S System in the first month.
I thought about this for a long time, too. But in Volume 2 of the original, a phone suddenly appears, and it shows the Class Points. If we use that setup, there are only two possibilities: either the students could see them from the beginning, or the school changed the display screen for the first-years.
After thinking it over, I realized that the first month's exam wasn't testing how much the students knew about the S System. If the teachers wanted to explain it, the students could have understood it on the first day. So it didn't really matter. After all, the exam was the school's comprehensive assessment of each class, including things like classroom discipline.
There were plenty of other things I only noticed later, too. For example, Volume 11.5 of the original mentioned the second-years' Class Points, but I overlooked it.
After thinking it over, I decided to just leave it alone.
7. The protagonist still isn't enough of a degenerate. When will he start licking Sakayanagi Arisu's feet?
Sooner or later, he'll lick them until she can't take it anymore. Her face will turn bright red, and she'll whack him on the head with her cane.
8. Will there be a huge update when the novel goes premium?
At first, I wanted to boldly declare, "I'm going to release ten chapters!"
But I type slowly, so that's only something I can dream about. I'll release four chapters, probably around noon and in the evening. If I have time, I'll add another.
9. Will you still be a lazy bum who only updates four thousand words a day after going premium?
It's the end of the year, so that's how things are. After the Spring Festival, I'll pick up the pace. I'll also have occasional big updates next month.
10. Is there a group chat?
Group number: 258365567. I'll post missing chapters or some extras in the group later.
11. Author, author, can I copy you?
No.
All right, thank you to everyone who's kept reading this far. See you tomorrow.
An illustration is here. It can be viewed after updating to the latest version.
Chapter 61: Library Tutoring
The next day.
Since he'd taken Kamuro Masumi in, Suzuki Toru had no choice but to take her to the library for a tutoring session.
The midterm exams were probably just around the corner. The library was nearly full of students, and there were even upperclassmen studying hard.
The atmosphere reminded Suzuki Toru of college. Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to participate much. He'd accidentally gotten into graduate school recommendation track and, to his regret, missed out on the fun of taking entrance exams.
"Tch, all the good seats are taken." Kamuro Masumi was a little annoyed. Nearly all the quiet, comfortable seats were occupied, leaving plenty of spots near the aisles.
"If you don't want to study here, then come study in my room tonight." Suzuki Toru scanned the library. There were quite a few first-years, but he could barely see anyone from Class A.
"Who's going to your room?" Kamuro Masumi glared at him in annoyance. "If someone finds out, the librarian will chew us out."
Suzuki Toru gave her a strange look. So it was fine as long as they didn't get caught?
"Whatever. Let's just get started." Kamuro Masumi sat down at a spot at random, without a care.
There was a girl sitting beside her, though, and she seemed startled.
Couldn't this girl ask if the seat was taken?
Seeing this, Suzuki Toru had no choice but to follow. He turned to the girl beside Kamuro Masumi and asked with a hint of apology, "Excuse me. Would it be all right if my friend and I sat here?"
At the sound of his voice, the girl looked up at him, her eyes a little unfocused. Then they gradually brightened, and she smiled faintly.
"Of course. Please, go ahead."
She held a book in her hands. Her long, smooth hair fell over her shoulders, framing a flawless face, a cute little nose, and slightly rosy lips curved in a gentle smile. Her slender fingers were as pale as scallions. She had clearly been immersed in the world of her book, and she radiated a quiet, tranquil air.
For some reason, she made Suzuki Toru think of the phrase "gentle as jade."
[What's this? Hiyori? Kiss her!], [I want to sit her on my lap and read together], [Make Shiina Hiyori read an ecchi book], [Lick Shiina Hiyori's feet raw], [I really want to hug Shiina Hiyori in the library????], [I want little Hiyori's ice cream to help me finish], [Please, help little Hiyori grow up faster], [Pat little Hiyori's head and tell her she's so cute], [Be friends with Shiina Hiyori], [Teach her a little something], [Shiina Hiyori is the heroine]...
These wishes seemed to be getting more and more depraved.
Suzuki Toru showed little change in expression. He only glanced at the girl's small chest. Her figure was beginning to develop, with a youthful, lovely shape. The slight curve made him wonder what it would feel like to touch, and she was petite and cute to begin with.
So it was only natural that some of the wishes wanted him to pick her up.
He couldn't see what was beneath the table, but a stretch of clean, pale thigh showed below her skirt. Fine white thigh-high socks covered her legs, and the striking contrast between her jade-white skin and the stockings was breathtaking.
He hadn't touched her yet, but Suzuki Toru could imagine what she would feel like.
Like a dragonfly skimming the water, he turned his gaze away and naturally sat beside Kamuro Masumi, then prepared to help her with her studies.
"You've been paying attention in class, right?"
"Of course. I'm not some lazy idiot."
"Your notes look great, but do you understand this part?"
