"Systems of linear equations?"

"..."

Although Suzuki Toru had already formed an expectation regarding Kamuro Masumi's academic level, he still couldn't help but shake his head and sigh.

It wasn't that she was stupid; in all honesty, her grasp of the fundamentals was fine.

But that was as far as it went.

She was the type who studied diligently in class, but the moment she faced a problem, her true nature was exposed: she could only solve the first and second parts of a complex question, and for everything else, she would simply write "Solution."

When she encountered a difficult problem, she could eventually solve it, but it often took a long time, and she usually relied on brute force or exhaustive enumeration.

She wasn't exactly unscholarly; she was just a very average student.

In any other class, this level of performance would likely be the reality for most students, but in Class A, it was different; if one didn't strive to keep up, the probability of being expelled was quite high.

Even so, Suzuki Toru didn't feel much emotion, instead teaching Kamuro Masumi with even more patience.

Before long, Kamuro Masumi felt she had gained a lot.

"I didn't expect you to be so good at teaching. I feel like you're better than Sakayanagi."

Perhaps because she had relaxed, Kamuro Masumi couldn't help but stretch, a flash of her pale, soft midriff appearing beneath the hem of her uniform for a fleeting second.

"That's because you aren't stupid." Suzuki Toru had taught true academic failures before—those who understood absolutely nothing—and by comparison, Kamuro Masumi's level was actually quite high.

"I think so too." Kamuro Masumi felt a bit happy; it was rare for him to praise her.

"At this pace, the tutoring sessions will be every two days." Suzuki Toru sighed. "To be honest, I didn't expect the Student Council work to be this demanding."

If he hadn't mentioned the Student Council, Kamuro Masumi would have almost forgotten that this guy was the Vice President, yet here he was, tutoring her.

Thinking of this, she felt a bit strange.

"Actually, you don't have to worry about me. For exams and such, just working hard the night before is enough." Kamuro Masumi didn't want to trouble him at all.

"You barely scraped a sixty on the last simple test. If the midterm is even harder, wouldn't you be dead?" Suzuki Toru reminded her.

Kamuro Masumi's face darkened. Could this guy not understand what she was saying?

Was he trying to undermine her here?

"Also, I need to remind you, Kamuro-san." Suzuki Toru seemed to notice her thoughts. "Helping you with tutoring is entirely for my own selfish desires."

Kamuro Masumi felt a sense of foreboding, then heard him say softly: "You agreed to my request yesterday, didn't you?"

He could see the girl's body stiffen instantly, her frame tensing up as she involuntarily dodged his gaze, biting her lip gently and pretending to be nonchalant as she brushed the long hair hanging before her eyes, twirling it around her fingers a few times.

"Tch, I'll satisfy you pervert eventually, but not right now." Kamuro Masumi tried to brush it off; she wasn't wearing safety shorts today.

Ever since Suzuki Toru had called out her intentions, she had given up, not daring to act recklessly.

Unfortunately, how could words once spoken be easily taken back?

Suzuki Toru reached out with an expressionless face and suddenly touched her thigh, causing her to nearly jump out of her seat.

"Hey, hey, what are you doing? This is the library!" Kamuro Masumi suppressed the panic in her heart and glared at him fiercely, her heart beating faster and faster; she had never imagined he would actually go through with it.

"As the price for receiving my valuable guidance, you must satisfy one small request of mine each time, until you are willing to let me see what's underneath."

Chapter 62: I'll Wait for You!

Touching his "bro's" thigh for the first time, he felt only a smooth, delicate texture with a unique, soft suppleness. Pressing down slightly, he could feel a stubborn elasticity; it seemed like he could play with it all day just by touching it.

Suzuki Toru thought she would immediately slap his hand away, but she only blushed slightly, glaring at him with considerable dissatisfaction before turning her gaze away.

"Only for a little while." Kamuro Masumi whispered.

Although Suzuki Toru was truly a pervert at times, this was likely the first time he had actually made a move on her; previously, it had all been limited to talk.

Having been used to his comments for so long, now that she finally saw him touching her, Kamuro Masumi found her feelings to be somewhat complex.

It wasn't that she felt disgust; it was more of a numbness.

Kamuro Masumi sighed internally; she would treat this as a reward for him this time, as his guidance just now had truly been beneficial.

As for what Suzuki Toru had said just a moment ago, she chose to pretend she hadn't heard it.

However, Kamuro Masumi soon felt regret, as she had severely underestimated Suzuki Toru's perversion.

"Since you don't want me to see what's underneath, can you at least tell me what color you're wearing today?" Suzuki Toru's expression was calm; the moment he touched her thigh, one wish had been fulfilled.

But he wasn't satisfied.

[Taking a walk on campus with Kamuro Masumi at night], [Having Kamuro Masumi and Sakayanagi Arisu stacked together], [Having Kamuro act as a little maid], [Teasing her until she's blushing], [Can I have Kamuro Masumi on top?]...

Most of these wishes might be impossible for now, but some could be worked toward.

At the very least, he had to make Kamuro Masumi blush, or force her to reveal her maidenly purity.

"Disgusting!" Kamuro Masumi cursed quite bluntly.

To this, Suzuki Toru wasn't angry at all; the more she loathed it, the better.

"Kamuro-san, I treat you like a brother, which is why I want to see it. Why is that not okay?"

Seeing his look of utter justification, Kamuro Masumi couldn't help but fall silent.

She is a woman, not your brother, and even if she were, she isn't a lesbian, let alone someone who would show you what's underneath.

Just how obsessed is this guy with her?

As Kamuro Masumi was about to scold him further, a commotion suddenly erupted not far away.

"Shut up! This has absolutely nothing to do with you!"

A hot-tempered boy slammed his hand on the table and stood up, glaring at the girl opposite him with a hostile expression.

"It certainly has nothing to do with me. The ones who will end up expelled are you lot, I'm merely feeling pity." The girl remained unmoved, her tone indifferent.

"Are you kidding me? Studying is completely worthless!" the boy shouted, visibly agitated. "Instead of clinging to textbooks, I'd be better off pursuing a career as a basketball player. Studying won't help my future one bit!"

"Incorrect. You run away the moment you encounter a difficult problem. I imagine when you play, you only care about your own performance, ignoring everyone else and never trying to fix your own weaknesses. If I were a coach, I wouldn't even consider recruiting someone like you."

Faced with the girl's mocking words, the boy flew into a rage, grabbing her by the collar and raising his fist to strike.

But someone immediately interrupted his action.

"Sudo-kun!"

By now, many students in the library had noticed the disturbance.

Suzuki Toru was no exception, watching the scene unfold with a strange expression on his face.

Well, the girl about to be hit was none other than Horikita Suzune.

The person stopping Sudo Ken was Kushida Kikyo, while Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, whom he had seen last time, sat nearby along with a few other students.

Unless he was mistaken, this odd group must be students from Class D.

"I have absolutely no interest in you, but the childish idea of aiming for a professional career—I don't think someone like you is capable of it." Horikita Suzune didn't seem to fear Sudo Ken at all; instead, she continued to taunt him.

"You woman!" Sudo Ken's eyes were filled with fury. "I specifically gave up club activities to attend your study session—it's a complete waste of time!"

Without waiting for Kushida Kikyo to speak, he released Horikita Suzune, turned to pack his bag, and headed toward the library exit.

Seeing this, the others stood up in silence and walked away right in front of Horikita Suzune, leaving even Kushida Kikyo looking helpless.

"Looks like they're from Class D. What a bunch of idiots!" Kamuro Masumi had naturally watched the argument unfold and found it amusing, momentarily forgetting that Suzuki Toru was still stroking her thigh.

Because the commotion was so loud, Shiina Hiyori, who was nearby, couldn't help but look up in curiosity.

"It seems there are many people in Class D who aren't good at studying." Suzuki Toru withdrew his gaze; the more setbacks Horikita Suzune faced, the more advantageous it was for him.

With that, he turned his attention to Shiina Hiyori.

"By the way, you're a first-year student too, right?"

Shiina Hiyori was a bit surprised, but she nodded. "Yes, I'm Shiina Hiyori from Class 1-C. Nice to meet you."

"Suzuki Toru from Class 1-A, and this is my classmate, Kamuro-san." Suzuki Toru introduced them naturally.

"I hope I'm not being too forward, but are you two dating?" Shiina Hiyori blushed slightly. She had been reading, but the pair's actions hadn't been hidden from her at all.

Even now, Suzuki Toru was still touching Kamuro Masumi under her gaze, which was quite a visual shock for a simple-minded literary girl.

"Who would date this guy!" Kamuro Masumi finally snapped back to reality and slapped Suzuki Toru's hand away.

Suzuki Toru didn't mind her reaction and continued to ask, "Shiina-san, don't you need to prepare for the midterm exams?"

"My grades are alright," Shiina Hiyori smiled shyly. "And I don't need to help with the study sessions in my class, so I can read other books in the library."

In fact, Suzuki Toru had noticed long ago that she was holding a mystery novel, specifically a classic whodunit.

"Is this a novel by Lawrence Block?"

Shiina Hiyori was stunned. She hadn't expected him to recognize the author of the book in her hands, and her eyes lit up.

"Yes! Does Suzuki-kun like mystery novels too?" She thought she had found a kindred spirit.

Suzuki Toru shook his head. "I've only read Sherlock Holmes; I haven't read any other mystery novels."

Shiina Hiyori looked dejected for a moment, but she quickly perked up and gave him a lovely smile.

"Would you like to try one?"

Watching her pull a book from her bag, Suzuki Toru silently accepted it under someone's watchful gaze.

"It'll probably take me a few days to finish. I'll return it to you next time."

"I'll be waiting!"

Seeing that Suzuki Toru wasn't joking, Shiina Hiyori's smile grew even brighter.

On the other side, Horikita Suzune watched Kushida Kikyo's retreating back; the study session seemed to have ended on a sour note.
