Background / History
Suzuki Toru was originally killed by a truck while commuting to work. He transmigrated into a parallel world, became an idol-group producer, and was bound to a wish-granting machine that offered his continued life in return for personally fulfilling assigned wishes. Each completed wish grants him a random reward, and he may quit the arrangement at any time. 1
In his previous world, he cultivated idol Higuchi Madoka's career before fulfilling a wish to die by hanging in front of her, leaving her with lifelong regret. He is subsequently reborn again and arrives at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. 1
Upon entering Class 1-A, Toru begins cataloguing classmates in a notebook and studying the school's point system, surveillance coverage, class structure, and hidden rules. He learns that wishes gather around particular people and appear in his mind as brief, anonymous prompts. 2 4
Appearance
Toru is a notably attractive student whose appearance causes other students to mistake him for a celebrity or idol. 10
- His looks make him well-known among female students shortly after enrollment. 10
- He presents himself calmly and neatly enough to be taken seriously as a Student Council executive. 32
- His expression is usually composed, even while negotiating, provoking others, or being threatened. 15 18 36
Personality
Toru is analytical, opportunistic, and emotionally detached from his past. He habitually observes people for exploitable motives, records information, and measures situations in terms of leverage, efficiency, and the likelihood of completing wishes. 1 2 22
He is highly self-confident and willing to use deception, blackmail, contracts, rumors, and psychological pressure to reach his goals. He rarely reacts strongly to rejection or hostility, instead treating setbacks as information to use in later plans. 5 7 15 36
Despite his self-serving conduct, Toru can be patient when tutoring Kamuro Masumi, shows practical concern for Asahina Nazuna's sprained ankle, and shares a sincere interest in discussing mystery novels with Shiina Hiyori. 39 42 46
