Arc 17The Lightning Tribulation

Chen Changsheng uncovered the cost of the Self-severing Cut and sought Zhang Bairen to learn the purpose of the lightning tribulation. After returning to Mountain and River Academy, he guided Hua Feng and Xu Hu through their trials and prepared to face a widening political conflict.

  • Chen Changsheng learned that most cultivators had severed their foundations to avoid the lightning tribulation and explained that the choice barred them from reaching the Immortal Venerable Realm.
  • Chen Changsheng asked Bai Ze to work with Wu Li on a new cultivation method and set out with Hua Feng to find Zhang Bairen.

He then led a group of young cultivators toward perilous training, where Xu Hu entered the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Spring and Feiyun began training with Chen Shisan’s sword.

  • Chen Changsheng exposed Ma Guang’s use of an Imperial Weapon, and Mo Wen expelled him and confiscated the weapon despite the Great Strength Donkey Clan’s threats.
