He had managed to secure a massive sum of five million points, almost like a cheat code, from Ichinose of Class B and Koenji of Class D.
The air-dropped supplies from Class A had finally arrived.
Sakayanagi from Class A, being the only one who understood why Kujo needed to accumulate points, didn't wait for him to come to her; she sent someone to find him.
It happened to be at noon on the very day he received the five million points.
A girl from Class A appeared before Kujo once again and said:
"I believe we met in the library before."
Kujo nodded, naturally remembering her.
It was that woman, Morishita, who insisted on using people's full names and whose words were impossible to decipher.
After greeting Kujo, Morishita remarked:
"Just because I accidentally struck up a conversation with you last time, she sent me here."
Kujo replied:
"Yamamura has better intelligence-gathering skills, Hashimoto has better negotiation skills, Kamuro has higher loyalty, and Kito needs to stay by her side as a guard. Sakayanagi doesn't pick people based on fate, but on ability. She sent you because you have a conversational style that isn't easily seen through, and at the same time, you can use unique methods to probe others."
Morishita narrowed her eyes and nodded, acknowledging Kujo's assessment.
"That's right. Hearing you say that, it seems I really am quite impressive. It's a pity I'm still a level below the big shot from Class C."
The "big shot" she referred to was, of course, Kujo.
After saying this, Morishita made a gesture with her fingertips.
Kujo didn't understand what she meant, but she didn't hide her thoughts at all and continued:
"You will eventually come to Class A; I am certain of that. In that case, I am already your purse."
Kujo knew Morishita was referring to what she had said in the library last time.
She had said back then that if Kujo was just a little short of points to transfer to Class A, she would support him with everything she had.
Looking at it now, was that not just Sakayanagi's intention or Morishita's probing, but her genuine feelings?
Kujo didn't care; after all, he had no desire to promote to Class A.
However, Morishita's next words refreshed his perception of the girl once again:
"It's normal for a purse to worry about its master, isn't it? After all, as the first person to support the master, I should receive the highest status later on, right?"
There was no doubt this was another probe, and only a fool would take her seriously, but Kujo still had dark lines on his forehead as he told Morishita that if she didn't know how to speak properly, she could say less, and didn't need to force herself.
Morishita, however, was completely oblivious to this and continued with even more explosive remarks:
"I am very curious about what you want to do, so as long as you don't drop out and remain this interesting, I wouldn't mind giving up on Sakayanagi Arisu and becoming your dog."
The culture of Japan and Kujo's understanding were not the same.
Perhaps the species known as a dog was relatively cute?
Just as the identity of a nanny was relatively noble?
Kujo was already used to it.
As if.
Kujo couldn't take it anymore.
Although he had always wanted to shed his utilitarian persona, he could only return to the main topic:
"Why did Sakayanagi send you here?"
Morishita took out her phone, displayed the points on the screen to Kujo, and said:
"This is the dowry given by our princess."
Kujo swung a hand-blade toward Morishita; it was just a gesture, but Morishita had already hugged her head and crouched down.
Morishita behaved herself:
"This is the sincerity of our Class A. We have a general understanding of the situation. You, Kujo Makoto, want to use points to increase the extra rewards for this exam. The difficulty of this exam is relatively low, and we believe it is beneficial to let other classes gain class points in preparation for the potential grade-level battles that may occur later."
Kujo looked at Morishita, who was speaking at high speed and relaying her thoughts normally, and sighed.
Wouldn't it have been better to do this from the start?
After snatching the phone from her, Kujo asked for her student ID and password, then unceremoniously transferred the points to himself via an anonymous request.
After finishing all this, Kujo tossed the phone back to Morishita.
Morishita caught it, and seeing that he had left her with quite a few points, she felt very puzzled:
"It would have been fine if you had transferred them all, you know?"
Kujo clicked his tongue and said to Morishita:
"Keep the remaining money and spend it yourself."
Morishita froze, and looking at the impatient Kujo, she couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Tears fell uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes.
Kujo watched from the side with an expression one might use for someone mentally challenged.
He and Morishita had been chatting on the first floor of the dormitory the entire time, and this commotion caused the surrounding students to cast curious gazes toward the strange Morishita.
She laughed for a long time before finally stopping.
Morishita wiped the corners of her eyes and said to Kujo:
"We'll be waiting for you in Class A."
"By the way, regarding this midterm exam, is Class A going to be alright? Do you have any countermeasures?"
"Don't worry, we've asked Mashima and some upperclassmen to help us with tutoring."
"What are the upperclassmen doing here?"
"Since your three classes are working together, the upperclassmen naturally couldn't sit still and came to help our Class A. Why else would we say our Princess is a genius?"
"Aren't you embarrassed to call her a genius?"
"Me?"
"Fair enough..."
Unlike Class B and Class D, Ryuen from Class C was just like Sakayanagi in Class A.
He was also constantly keeping an eye on Kujo, and he also knew that Kujo might be planning something for this exam.
However, Ryuen's attitude was the complete opposite of Sakayanagi's.
"So, after swindling 7.5 million points from the outside, you're even going to scam your own class? You really are the savior of Class C."
Ryuen looked at Kujo and mocked him.
Kujo had used 10,000 points to arrange another meeting with Ryuen on the same rooftop as before.
This time, Ryuen didn't bring anyone; he came alone.
Ryuen was different from how he used to be.
If one had to say what was different, perhaps his goals had become more persistent?
In any case, he had improved quite a bit.
As the first person Kujo had clashed with at Advanced Nurturing High School, he still possessed a fighting spirit to this day; he was truly worthy of being called the unkillable cockroach from the original story.
Ryuen undoubtedly possessed sufficiently strong mental fortitude and the corresponding ability to take action.
In the first month, he had seen through Koenji's method of obtaining points from upperclassmen and adopted the same tactics to acquire points himself.
But even so, to extract 2.5 million points from Class C, he still had to mobilize the strength of the entire class.
For this reason, Kujo didn't hesitate to spend another 10,000 points to invite Ryuen to hear his thoughts.
But Ryuen seemed to have lost the desire to communicate; he took off his school blazer and tossed an iron pipe he had prepared beforehand to Kujo's feet.
"Isn't it you who said there's nothing that can't be solved by a fight between men?"
Kujo stepped on the edge of the iron pipe, applied force, and the pipe spun once before flying into his hand.
"Don't blame me if you get hurt."
Ryuen's adrenaline surged to its peak, and he shouted:
"If I get hurt, you're the one getting expelled."
Kujo understood that, of course.
But Kujo was afraid he wouldn't be able to stop himself from going too far.
Ten minutes later.
Ryuen lay sprawled on the ground.
"So you intended to disarm me from the very beginning, huh."
Looking at the iron bar that had been broken into three pieces nearby, Ryuen cursed and grumbled while lying on the floor.
Kujo didn't hear him.
Ryuen was exhausted, his voice was too quiet, and the wind was too strong at that moment.
Kujo sat on the edge of the rooftop, dangling his legs over the railing; at this point, the slightest movement carried the risk of falling.
If this dangerous act were reported to the disciplinary committee, he would certainly be docked points, but he didn't care.
Having achieved his goal of collecting 10 million points, Kujo sent a text message to Ichinose.
He wanted to ask about the progress of the study group.
In just over a month, so many things had happened.
Watching Ryuen stand up not far away, Kujo called out to him:
"The upcoming exams won't be as simple as this one; by then, I expect this game of house will be over. Are you sure you don't need my help?"
The subsequent uninhabited island exam and the cruise ship VIP exam could never be as easy to get through as these two tests.
Although everyone currently keeps saying they will graduate together.
When the time for choosing truly arrives.
No one will hold onto the naive idea of trusting others.
However, if Ryuen wanted to pick an opponent from the current first-years, he would only experience defeat regardless of how he went about it.
Although Ryuen certainly possesses a powerful willpower and bottomless methods.
But when facing Class D led by Hirata, Horikita, and Kushida, Class B led by Ichinose—who has set her mind on things other than romance—and the complete Class A led by Sakayanagi, someone like Ryuen who only knows fear and violence would find it hard to gain any advantage.
Ryuen stood up and said this to Kujo:
"You brat, answer me one question."
"Go ahead and ask."
"You're done pretending, aren't you? Back at the start of the school year, I saw you looking like a total daze."
Hm? Isn't he still like that now?
Kujo was disappointed in his own acting, so he sighed and began his daily lecture:
"I simply want to see you children be able to use your full strength without any regrets."
Ryuen sarcastically remarked that Kujo was quite the nice guy.
"Sooner or later, I'm going to get you expelled."
Kujo smiled.
"Yes, perhaps you might actually be able to do that. Let me give you a suggestion—if you carried a knife with my fingerprints on it to self-harm, or if you brought people to jump me after confirming graduation, I suppose I would lose to you, wouldn't I?"
But if it is just within the exams of this school.
It is absolutely impossible.
