The VIP Exam (6) and Cooperation with Class B, Finding All the VIPs

Good times never lasted long.

6:58 p.m.

"Hey, how did I land on Yi Chen's property again? Now I'm bankrupt too."

"Aw, it's over, it's over. Next game, next game."

"Yi Chen sure is lucky."

"Yi Chen is so good! Wow~"

"Hey, Shiina won the first game, and Yi Chen won the second. The next one's definitely mine."

Everyone discussed the game animatedly.

Himeno Yuki gently reminded them:

"Our discussion time is almost over. Does anyone still want to play?"

Tangben Yishan said ruefully:

Ken Sudō chimed in:

"Hey, let's play one more round. I almost won just now."

Shiina Hiyori said softly:

"No, I did have fun today, but I still have things to take care of."

Tangben Yishan said cheerfully:

"Sorry, Sudō. We really do have things to take care of for our class. If you want to play, we can go to Yi Chen's room tonight."

Yi Chen looked at the two of them helplessly:

"Hold it. I don't want to play anymore."

The others also said they had things to take care of after the discussion.

Yi Chen casually glanced at Kanzaki, who understood his meaning.

After everyone tidied up the room, discussion time was over.

They began to file out.

Ken Sudō stretched:

"Has everyone eaten yet?"

Sudō said languidly:

Airi followed beside Sato.

The three of them left the meeting room.

Yi Chen spotted Kanzaki at the corridor corner. They exchanged a glance, and Kanzaki turned into the alcove.

Yi Chen clutched his stomach and pretended it hurt, looking uncomfortable.

"Um, Sudō, my stomach suddenly feels off. You guys go ahead and eat."

Ken Sudō looked concerned:

"What's wrong, Yi Chen? Want me to go with you?"

Yi Chen looked at him with disdain:

"Uh... no need. I'm not used to having someone accompany me to the bathroom."

Airi asked worriedly:

"Are you okay, Yi Chen? Are you sick?"

Yi Chen replied helplessly:

"You guys go ahead. Don't worry about me. I'll be along in a bit."

Sudō said:

"Okay, buddy. Go take care of it."

"Should I order the same thing for you as I get?"

Yi Chen turned and walked away.

"Whatever."

Yi Chen went to the corner where Kanzaki had just turned and continued down the corridor.

Kanzaki was standing by the window at the end of the corridor.

When Yi Chen reached the end, Kanzaki opened the door to a room beside him, and Yi Chen followed him inside.

It was a Storage Room with only a dim light.

Kanzaki adjusted his glasses and said coldly:

"Yi Chen, Ichinose already told me you wanted to transfer classes."

Yi Chen nodded.

Kanzaki said:

"I don't mind you joining. It's up to Ichinose."

Yi Chen replied:

"Thanks."

Kanzaki looked at Yi Chen calmly.

"I've already discussed it with Ichinose. This exam is a Special Exam."

"There are eight rounds. If every round is resolved peacefully, the classes won't change."

"We'll get 11 million personal points."

"Your Class D will get 14 million personal points."

"But that's the ideal scenario."

"Your Class D should have reached 310 Class Points after the Uninhabited Island Exam."

"You'll soon overtake Class C."

"I don't know what other exams the school will hold to award Class Points."

"But it's best to help your Class D move up first. It's good for our two classes to cooperate."

"So, in this exam, Class B will sacrifice one VIP and tell you who it is, allowing your group to finish the exam early."

"You'll get 500,000 personal points and 50 Class Points."

"We'll lose 50 points."

"In another round, we'll need everyone to answer correctly so we can earn some personal points."

"Until you transfer, we'll continue cooperating with your Class D."

Yi Chen said calmly:

"Is that so? But I can't speak for Class D."

Kanzaki's expression remained cold.

"Ichinose trusts you. What you do about that is up to you."

Yi Chen replied evenly:

"Then tell me who it is."

Kanzaki said quietly:

"Venus. Shiranami Chihiro."

Yi Chen said:

"Understood. Let's leave it at that for now."

Yi Chen left first. Kanzaki waited a while before leaving too.

Yi Chen thought:

"Class B's Shiranami, Class D's Ken Sudō and Karuizawa."

"Just as in the original story, the VIPs are assigned according to the Eight Planets, based on the order of their names."

"Now I just need to find out who's in each group."

Yi Chen said:

"310 points. Ryuen should soon figure out the truth behind this exam too."

"He'll probably work it out before tonight. I want to beat him to it."

"20 million transfer points."

After thinking it over, Yi Chen went to the cafeteria and ate with Ken Sudō and the others. Then he went back to his room, saying he wasn't feeling well.

Yi Chen messaged Chabashira:

"Teacher, I need to talk to you."

Chabashira replied:

"Now?"

Yi Chen said:

"Yes."

Chabashira replied:

"Meet me on the top deck of the Cruise Ship."

After reading the message, Yi Chen went to the top deck.

There wasn't much entertainment up there. People came just to enjoy the breeze.

Yi Chen saw Chabashira leaning on the railing, gazing quietly out at the sea.

He went over to stand beside her.

Chabashira asked coldly:

"What is it?"

Yi Chen said calmly:

"I want to know who's in every group."

Chabashira replied casually:

"Why don't you just ask your classmates?"

Yi Chen said evenly:

"That's too much trouble, and I might not remember everyone."

Chabashira asked:

"Anything else?"

Yi Chen said:

"I need to switch the SIM cards in our phones."

Chabashira lit a cigarette.

"20,000 points."

Yi Chen took out his phone.

"Let's do it."

Chabashira asked:

"Just yours?"

Yi Chen replied:

"And Ken Sudō's."

Chabashira smiled.

"40,000 points, plus 10,000 for letting you see the group members."

"50,000."

Yi Chen stared at Chabashira without expression.

"No problem. Just transfer it."

Chabashira said coldly:

"Wait until I finish this cigarette."

Then Chabashira took Yi Chen to her room.

She showed Yi Chen the names of everyone in the Eight Planets groups.

Yi Chen worked it out.

Mercury was closest to the sun, and the first name in the order was

Shiranami Chihiro from Class B.

Venus was second.

Katsuragi from Class A.

Earth was third.

Kito Hayato from Class A.

Mars was fourth.

Karuizawa from Class D.

Jupiter was fifth.

Minamikata Kozue from Class B.

Saturn was sixth.

Ken Sudō from Class D.

Uranus, seventh

Ishizaki Daichi, Class C

Neptune, eighth

Kinoshita Minori, Class C.

After Yi Chen had worked out the VIPs for each class, he called Ken Sudō over.

Ken Sudō arrived at Chabashira-sensei's office area and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Ken Sudō was a little nervous.

"Hello, Chabashira-sensei."

Yi Chen said:

"Sudō, let's switch SIM cards for our phones."

"We'll switch them back after the exam."

"On the last day, when the VIPs are announced, I'll use your phone to make the announcement."

Ken Sudō was a little confused, but he still agreed to Yi Chen's request.
