Karuizawa initially maintains a confident, arrogant “queen” persona within Class D. Tang Yu finds her crying alone in the library after Ryuen Kakeru threatens to expose a secret from her middle-school years. Though she tries to resume her usual façade, her fear and desperation reveal how fragile that persona has become. 23
