"Let's get this straight: if my dad asks later, you tell him you came up with your own way to sneak over here. Don't you dare say I was the one who brought you."
Yun Ze instructed Na'er. Thanks to the "will of the world" helping out, Yun Ming viewed Na'er just like the original story—as if she were his own flesh and blood.
If Yun Ming found out he had taken Na'er to the lair of an Evil Soul Master, his backside would be in serious trouble.
Yun Ze was not the type of person to invite massive trouble upon himself just for a few minor benefits.
Na'er sat obediently in the back of the Soul Guidance Mecha cockpit, nodding at the rearview mirror.
Yun Ze didn't say anything more, and the two headed toward Tianlin City.
Tianlin City was within the permitted flight zone for Soul Guidance Mecha. As they approached, the intelligent auxiliary navigation system automatically adjusted their altitude to the flight ceiling allowed by the city.
However, this place was truly worthy of being a stronghold chosen by the Holy Spirit Cult; the local customs were incredibly aggressive. As Yun Ze's mecha flew through the air, two purple mecha suddenly appeared in front of him.
Generally, when encountering such a situation in normal areas, both sides would communicate to reach an optimal passing arrangement.
At the very least, they would just keep their heads down and fly in one direction to bypass each other.
But these two mecha were different. They were quite unconventional, flying up and down directly in front of Yun Ze's mecha, completely blocking his flight path.
Yun Ze clicked his tongue lightly, thinking to himself that these were some truly troublesome pests.
Seeing that Tianling City was just a short distance ahead, Yun Ze didn't want to get into any further disputes with them. He signaled for a descent and began to slowly lower his altitude.
He hadn't expected that when the two mecha saw him actively descending and preparing to switch to ground mode, they would interpret it as him backing down.
The two mecha immediately began blaring their horns wildly, circling around Yun Ze while extending rope-like devices, preparing to bind his mecha.
The scene viewed from inside Yun Ze's cockpit made him even angrier; the "ropes" they had released were actually steel cables, and specially forged ones at that.
If he really let them entangle the mecha and wrap around it a few times in mid-air, his mecha would likely be ruined.
Yun Ze said in a deep voice:
"Na'er, are you sure that as long as I wear this mask and don't let my martial soul manifest, my aura won't be exposed?"
Na'er nodded firmly and replied:
"Don't worry. If you can find a mask of the right size for your martial soul to wear, its aura will be masked as well."
Yun Ze nodded slightly, then activated cruise mode and engaged the mecha's protective shield, saying:
"Don't move a muscle. Wait here for me."
With that, Yun Ze activated the mecha's ejection function. The cockpit cover above his head flipped open instantly, and an anti-airflow shield appeared, preventing Na'er in the back seat from being crushed by the wind pressure.
Following the ejection system, Yun Ze was launched out, and a pair of long spears appeared in his hands.
They were his martial souls, the Heaven-Propping Spear and the Heaven-Surpassing Spear. As he gripped the twin spears, the mask provided by Na'er caused them to be wrapped in a layer of impenetrable black mist, obscuring the ancient characters carved upon them.
Naturally, it was impossible to determine their true origin.
Using the force of the ejection and his own soul power, Yun Ze stepped twice onto the mecha's exterior and swung his spear violently.
Carrying the strength of his arm, the Heaven-Propping Spear pierced through the mecha's protective shield and cockpit cover like a hot knife through butter, pinning one of the pilots directly inside the cabin.
"I already yielded to you. You want me dead? Then leave your lives behind!"
Yun Ze said, and with two swift strikes, he smashed the now-pilotless mecha into pieces. He then turned his gaze, cold as a Death God, toward the other mecha.
Seeing his companion instantly killed, the pilot of the other mecha realized he had run into a wall. He immediately released the cables and turned his mecha around, preparing to flee.
But it was already too late. Yun Ze kicked off the wreckage of the first mecha and lunged forward.
With the twin spears in front of him, he drove them simultaneously into the core at the back of the mecha, punching two holes through the core array.
"Die!"
Yun Ze pulled his hands apart, and the twin spears naturally tore out of the mecha, ripping the machine into two halves as if it were raw meat.
The soul master piloting the mecha was frantically trying to manifest his own martial soul in mid-air. Yun Ze didn't even spare him a glance, running him through with an angry thrust of his spear.
Na'er watched Yun Ze from above, a ridiculous thought suddenly crossing her mind.
This kid wouldn't get so carried away with the killing that he'd accidentally spear her too, would he?
Yun Ze looked back at the mecha still hovering in mid-air, snorted lightly, and turned to return to his own cockpit.
As he put away his twin spears, Na'er noticed that not a single drop of blood had touched him.
After his slaughter of these two wild individuals, Yun Ze seemed to be in a good mood and said to Na'er:
"Remember, in the future, if someone provokes you while you're out, don't be polite. Just fight back with everything you've got."
"If I hadn't acted just now, those two steel cables would have tangled around the mecha, and with their combined force, they would have instantly shredded it, turning us into mincemeat along with it."
Na'er nodded and said:
"I haven't studied anything related to mecha before, so I really didn't know about that."
Yun Ze licked his fingers and added:
"Actually, quite a few mecha pilots in the peaceful zones don't know about this either. This was a tactic used by highway robbers back in the savage era when mecha first appeared and there were no relevant laws yet."
"Later, as the laws became more robust and protections for mecha pilots increased, this method disappeared because the cost outweighed the benefits. The profit gained from such a method is just a pile of scrap metal, but you end up offending the Federation or even a powerful family of mecha pilots."
Yun Ze explained to Na'er, and Na'er replied:
"Is offending a Mecha Master family even more terrifying than offending the Federation?"
Yun Ze smiled and said, "Isn't that obvious? Does the Federation need a trial to kill you? If a Mecha Master wants to kill you, it's just a matter of pressing two buttons."
"Just like with me; if we really had to go through the proper legal procedures to put them on trial, they wouldn't even be facing death."
Na'er nodded thoughtfully. At this moment, Yun Ze flew off in the direction of Tianlin City...
