Background

Guan Yue is Yun Ming's junior fellow apprentice. He attended Yun Ze's secret martial soul awakening ceremony in the Sea God Pavilion, where Yun Ze awakened the Heaven-Surpassing Spear associated with Guan Yue. 1 2

Following their master's instruction that each man's descendants should learn under the other, Yun Ming arranged for Guan Yue to take Yun Ze as his disciple. Guan Yue initially joked and evaded Yun Ming's demand for a formal apprenticeship gift, but became sincerely invested after witnessing Yun Ze's innate full soul power, exceptional mental power, and martial souls. 2
