Background / History
Mu Ye is the son of a former Body Sect Master who led the sect a hundred years earlier. He became interested in mechas as a child, and the sect initially supported his hobby, including helping him meet the talented young blacksmith Zhen Hua. His soul-master cultivation remained merely passable beside his dedication to mecha research 71.
Hu Jie’s defection to the Tang Sect took most of the Body Sect’s disciples with him, forcing Mu Ye into leadership during the resulting crisis. Hu Jie’s unsuccessful pursuit of Mu Ye’s mother was a trigger for the betrayal, although his belief that the Body Sect had no future was the deeper reason. Mu Ye inherited a severely diminished sect and eventually had to survive on savings left by its predecessors 48 71 126.
Zhen Hua’s rise to God Craftsman improved Mu Ye’s circumstances. His friend supplied the God-Rank Metal needed for Mu Ye’s Four-Word Battle Armor and Little Red. Nevertheless, Mu Ye could not reach Super Douluo despite extensive resources, and criticism of his mecha research remained a lasting source of frustration 71.
Personality
Mu Ye is straightforward, proud, and sensitive to accusations against himself or his sect. When Xie An questions whether he might cooperate with Evil Soul Masters to restore the Body Sect, he angrily rejects the accusation and attempts to leave. His attitude toward Xie An changes after their students defeat Shrek Academy, a victory he celebrates as relief from years of frustration 48 55.
His apparent laziness as a chef disappears when he begins discussing mecha design. He becomes precise, intensely focused, and openly fanatical about creating exceptional machines. Xie An’s recognition of his work moves him to tears because his dedication to Red Mechas had rarely received such validation 71 72 74.
Mu Ye combines harsh instruction with substantial personal investment in his students. He spends precious herbs freely on Tang Wulin, cooks nourishing meals for him, and follows Class Zero to protect them. He is similarly protective of Zhen Hua, choosing to investigate the Tiandou City attack himself rather than expose his friend to danger 49 70 89 105.
Abilities & Skills
Body Martial Soul and Physical Conditioning
Mu Ye possesses a golden-grade secondary awakening and extensive knowledge of the human body 48 49.
- Manifests golden giant hands capable of restraining a Red Mecha and sealing its pilot’s movements 89.
- Trains Class Zero to develop physiques far stronger than those of comparable soul masters 49 82.
- Possesses enough endurance and recovery to resist the Dark Blood Demon for nearly half an hour 107.
- Cannot provide a further physical-conditioning method for Xie An, whose body he judges to be near the Body Sect’s highest physical realm, the Flawless Golden Body 70.
Mecha Design and Piloting
Mu Ye treats a Red Mecha as a Mecha Master’s “second life” and argues that mechas should complement battle armor rather than serve merely as alternatives 71 72.
- Combines Little Red, Four-Word Battle Armor, and his awakened martial soul to fight far above his soul-power rank 48 71.
- Uses detailed measurements and complex mathematical formulas to design a mecha tailored to Xie An’s battle armor 72.
- Selects Soul-Resonance Gold for its excellent soul-power conductivity and adaptability 73.
- Produces Xie An’s initial core-component prototype in under three months, then plans further upgrades using recorded test data 78.
- Xie An considers Demigod-level combat power possible if Mu Ye reaches Super Douluo; Mu Ye does not achieve that breakthrough in the supplied chapters 71.
Body Sect Training
Mu Ye uses a sect technique that stimulates bodily potential through the boundary between life and death 70.
- Subjects Tang Wulin to underwater training intended to force out his latent physical potential 70.
- Explains that the method originated with a sect master’s secondary martial-soul awakening and was refined through continued research 70.
- Keeps Little Red available to address emergencies, although Tang Wulin still experiences genuine fear of death during training 70 72.
- Supplements training with precious medicinal herbs; this support helps Tang Wulin break his second blood essence seal and obtain his first golden blood essence soul ring 49.
Cooking
Mu Ye prepares food that supports strenuous physical training 70.
- His meals are both flavorful and nourishing enough to sustain Tang Wulin’s energy consumption for a day 70.
- Prepares Ruby Shrimp aboard the Star Luo-bound ship 69 70.
- Makes a feast from the captured sea beast’s octopus tentacles 76.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Little Red — Mu Ye’s Red Mecha, which answers him in a soft feminine voice. It can become a car, aircraft, long blade, or armor-like form that merges with his body, and can perform short-distance spatial teleportation 47 48 71.
- Contains substantially more God-Rank Metal than an ordinary Red Mecha. A Green Skull pilot estimates its metal content at the equivalent of at least two full Four-Word Battle Armor sets 71 89.
- Its combat analysis warns Mu Ye that defeating Xie An is almost impossible and that escape would likely destroy Little Red while costing Mu Ye at least half his life 48.
- Four-Word Battle Armor — Acquired with Zhen Hua’s assistance. Its protection, combined with Mu Ye’s physique, prevents the twelve-tentacled octopus from inflicting effective damage during their battle 71 74.
- War God Temple Master’s red token — Temporarily entrusted to Mu Ye by Xie An. It grants passage under the Temple Master’s authority and carries spiritual messages intended for Guan Yue and the Federation Council Chairman 92 99.
Relationships
- Xie An — Initially an adversarial authority who forces Mu Ye to remain at Eastsea Academy. Their relationship develops into mutual respect through teaching, mecha construction, and the Body Sect’s integration into the War God Temple. Xie An later saves his life 48 55 71 92 107.
- Tang Wulin — Favored student and Body Sect recruit. Mu Ye recognizes his exceptional blood essence, invests herbs and food in his development, and personally conducts his demanding physical training 49 70 72.
- Zhen Hua — Longtime friend, financial and material supporter, and mediator during the confrontation with Xie An. Mu Ye later visits him partly to ensure that he has protection 48 71 105.
- Wu Zhangkong — Fellow instructor of Class Zero. Wu Zhangkong develops the students’ combat techniques while Mu Ye strengthens their bodies; Mu Ye also relieves him during the Green Skull attack 49 82 88.
- Hu Jie — Former Body Sect member whose betrayal devastated the sect. Mu Ye deeply resents him and sees Xie An’s strength as an opportunity for revenge 71 91 107.
- Guan Yue — War God Temple Vice Master to whom Mu Ye delivers Xie An’s token and confidential message after returning from Star Luo 92 99.
- A Ruheng — Another Body Sect disciple, identified by Xie An as possessing the potential to reach Limit Douluo and help restore the sect 92.
