Jietisikoki leaned back in his chair, raising his head to watch the projection screen.

Seeing Ye Chen remain silent within the image, wholly immersed in meditation, he casually waved his hand and wiped the entire display away before reaching for the glass of red wine brimming at the edge of the desk.

Only then did Jietisikoki notice that Sainsai, seated in the corner of the office, was currently staring at him in silence.

The man immediately raised an eyebrow. Swirling the crimson wine in his hand, he greeted him with a flippant smile.

"Ha ha, Sainsai, so you're awake already. Your presence was so faint that I didn't even notice~"

Ignoring Jietisikoki's barbed sarcasm, Sainsai turned to glance at the brightly lit nighttime view of Sin City beyond the window, then spoke in a low, hoarse voice.

"Where is this?"

Jietisikoki answered calmly.

"You can think of it as my turf. In any case, it's not the Holy Light Pure Land."

Sainsai fell silent for a moment before questioning him directly.

"Butcher. You. What exactly are you trying to do?"

Jietisikoki took a small sip of red wine.

"What am I trying to do? That question is far too broad. Please be more specific."

Sainsai changed his wording.

"Whose side are you on?"

Jietisikoki answered without changing expression.

"I have always stood on my own side."

Sainsai grew somewhat irritated by Jietisikoki's perfunctory response. He raised his head and took a heavy breath, gazing at the ornately patterned ceiling before speaking lowly once more.

"Why... did you step in to save me at that crucial moment?"

"Hadn't you maintained the attitude of a spectator the entire time?"

"For you to suddenly decide to play the good Samaritan at the end, you must want something from me, right?"

Jietisikoki laughed aloud.
