Puzzling and Sobering

After parting ways with Ye Chen, Weimeng, once again acting as the temporary captain, led Oko, Xiya, Firona, and Erigat at full speed toward the western side of the battlefield.

Several kilometers ahead of them, across an open plain, an Abyss force made up of six Abyss Titans and nearly a hundred Abyss Walkers was charging toward the distant Great Rift with immense momentum.

Clearly, these Abyss true-form creatures intended to turn the central battlefield, where the flames of war burned fiercest, completely upside down, hoping to seize control of the overall situation in this war zone once more.

As for Weimeng's group, their mission was to intercept these Abyss reinforcements with all their might, preventing the seniors fighting bloody battles at the rift from falling into the perilous position of being attacked from both front and rear. In particular, they absolutely could not allow that colossal Abyss Titan, standing a hundred meters tall, to enter the battle unopposed. It was the most threatening of those terrifying beasts.

Yet as Weimeng's group of five rushed at full speed toward the Abyss reinforcements, they did not use clouds or sandstorms as cover. Instead, they flew openly beneath the sea of clouds all the way.

This was Weimeng's plan as acting captain. While hurrying onward, he would let the Clowns hidden on the far side of the wasteland notice their presence. On the surface, it looked like they were foolishly exposing their whereabouts, but in truth, they were deliberately drawing the Clowns' attention to create the perfect opportunity for another companion to strike.

Then, when Weimeng's group had closed half the distance between themselves and the Abyss reinforcements, an ear-splitting roar of thunder resounded across the heavens, surging straight into their ears from far behind them.
