The Sky Wolf Skolls raised the Divine Hammer in his hand, its light blazing brighter. Endless flames seemed ready to incinerate space. This was his full-power strike, and by now, Skolls regarded Qin Cang as an opponent on his level—or an even more terrifying one.
"Boom!"
The giant beast phantom formed by Qin Cang's claw art collided with Skolls's Divine Hammer, unleashing a violent explosion. The shockwave surged in every direction. Even a million kilometers away, one could clearly feel the tremendous energy fluctuations.
"Holy crap, Cao Benqi's this strong? How did I never notice before? Wait, he isn't going to hold a grudge, is he? I've won quite a few Hunyuan Units from him. What do I do? What do I do?" Kuin said, but the grin on his face showed just how excited he was.
"Enough. Let's listen to Cao Benqi and save these World Lords. They're vital forces in our Human Race camp; we can't let a single Sky Wolf slaughter them all. As for the fight over there, we'd better not go and make trouble. Cao Benqi can handle it himself. If we go, we'll only get in his way." Kailun was deeply shaken. He had suspected Qin Cang was hiding his strength, but he had never imagined Qin Cang was this powerful. Still, he was relieved. It was fortunate he had chosen to explore the treasure with Qin Cang back then. The stronger Qin Cang was, and the more formidable his backing, the better for him.
At the heart of the clash, Qin Cang finally showed a hint of solemnity. An Immortal Military Lord at the peak truly wasn't easy to deal with, especially one from the Demon Race Royal Family. Their secret techniques and treasures were among the finest at their level. He couldn't treat Skolls like an ordinary Immortal Military Lord.
"Human brat, I come from the mighty Sky Wolf Clan, a direct descendant of the great Lord of Sky Wolves! Today, I'll show you what happens when you offend the Demon Race. Die!" Skolls knew that if he killed Qin Cang today, the Demon Race's military would reward him handsomely. An opportunity like this might come only a few times in a lifetime. He couldn't bear to let it go.
More importantly, Qin Cang was only a World Lord. How strong could he possibly be? Skolls was a dignified Immortal Military Lord at the peak, a terrifying being only one step away from forging an undying body and advancing to the Marquis level. The pride of his royal bloodline and the confidence his strength gave him would never allow him to lose to a mere World Lord!
"As expected of the Demon Race Royal Family. The Sky Wolf Clan really is as tough as they say. Just what I wanted!" Qin Cang thought. He had gained a clearer understanding of the Demon Race's royal families. The Sky Wolf Clan was born with a Life Gene Level six times that of an ordinary being, on par with an adult Yan God Clan member. The clan was also famous for its toughness. In Qin Cang's memories, the Lord of Sky Wolves was renowned throughout the universe for his ability to stay alive. Aside from the Sky Wolf Palace, that reputation probably had a lot to do with his incredibly resilient Divine Body.
"Little wolf, you're strong enough to witness my true power."
Facing this Sky Wolf, Qin Cang was ready to use some real skill. If he kept using Shattered Shadow, he might not be able to take Skolls down today. If he used his spear techniques, the Sky Wolf would certainly die!
But Skolls wasn't strong enough to warrant Qin Cang using his spear techniques. That left Seven Kills of Burning Sky.
Shattered Shadow was a crude technique to begin with. Qin Cang had spent a century refining it, which was how it had gained its current power.
Seven Kills of Burning Sky was different. It was a claw art created on the foundation of the Path of the Beast God, and its creator had been far stronger, with far greater potential.
Over the past century, Qin Cang had worked to fuse Shattered Shadow with Black Hole Evolution, and had even tried to incorporate the Beast God's true meaning. He had made some progress, but overall, the results had been limited.
Seven Kills of Burning Sky, however, had a natural advantage when it came to incorporating the Beast God's true meaning. It was a claw art created from the Dao of Fire and Space, and already contained a rich Beast God essence. On that foundation, Qin Cang had further fused in the true meaning of Black Hole Evolution. Only after a century of effort had he created this new Seven Kills of Burning Sky, the most complete and powerful of his claw arts. It would be more than enough to deal with this Sky Wolf today.
As Qin Cang swept out with the Blazing Flame Claws, endless golden-red flames sprang into existence. They slowly took the shape of a colossal beast, one that looked somewhat like a horned dragon. Any well-informed powerhouse who saw it would recognize the form of the Fire Beast God!
The horned-dragon-like beast slowly raised its right claw. Blazing light tore through the endless void. Space seemed unable to withstand the terrifying heat and began to shatter inch by inch. With one swipe, waves of flame and cracks in space surged toward the enormous gray Sky Wolf, threatening to vaporize everything in their path!
"Run!"
Seeing this, Skolls didn't hesitate for a moment. How could this be a World Lord? This was clearly an Immortal God disguised as one! That strike would definitely injure him. If Qin Cang landed a few more like it, Skolls might not make it out alive today.
He no longer cared what this World Lord's true identity was. Escape mattered more than anything. As long as he got away, he'd have plenty of chances to take revenge later.
"Think you can get away?"
Qin Cang had no intention of letting the Demon Race Sky Wolf go. Skolls had killed so many soldiers in the Human Race camp, he carried valuable treasures, and killing him would earn Qin Cang Military Merit. For all these reasons, Qin Cang couldn't let him leave. No matter what, this Sky Wolf had to die today—even if it meant revealing some of his hidden trump cards!
Besides, that strike had already locked onto the gray Sky Wolf. It was too late to escape.
"Boom!"
To Qin Cang's surprise, Skolls knew he couldn't dodge the attack and chose to take the strike, Beast God Blazing Flame, head-on.
The Sky Wolf Clan truly lived up to its reputation for being tough. Skolls's Divine Body shattered instantly under the blow, but quickly reassembled.
"Thank goodness I learned my clan's inherited defensive technique. That kept the damage to a minimum. If I'd taken that hit without it, my Divine Body would have lost more than ten percent of its strength. Where did this World Lord come from? His power is terrifying!" Once his Divine Body had reformed, the Sky Wolf fled toward the distance with everything he had.
"To kill him, I'll have to keep shattering his undying body until it's completely destroyed." Qin Cang realized that Immortal Gods really were hard to kill.
"Even with a defensive technique, that strike cost my Divine Body three percent of its strength. If he hits me a few more times, I'm finished!" Skolls now knew he had picked a fight with someone far beyond his reach. The blow only strengthened his resolve to flee.
"Human World Lord, if you let me go, I'll give you all my treasures." Skolls raced away while sending Qin Cang a telepathic message. Even if this Human World Lord had terrifying mastery of the laws, he still wasn't an Immortal. He shouldn't be fast enough. That was Skolls's advantage. If he could gradually leave Qin Cang behind, he'd be safe.
"Enough talk. If I kill you, your treasures will be mine anyway. And your life is worth plenty of Military Merit. By every measure, you should die by my hand. Take this!" Qin Cang didn't bother with words. He pursued the Sky Wolf, already preparing his second strike. The moment he found an opening, he would stop Skolls in his tracks.
At that, the Sky Wolf understood that he had only two choices: escape or fight for his life. He stopped wasting his breath and prepared to hold Qin Cang off by force, looking for a chance to flee.
But that gave Qin Cang the opening he needed.
"Burning Sky Shattering Heaven!"
Qin Cang's second claw came down as expected. It was more domineering than the first, more destructive, and faster!
Under the second strike, the Beast God Phantom seemed ready to trample Heaven and Earth. The flames seemed ready to set the Sky Wolf's undying body ablaze. The power of space spread through the area as well, and deep within space, a massive black hole came crushing toward the Sky Wolf with overwhelming force.
If the first claw art had focused on sharpness, seeking to slice through the Divine Body in one blow, then the second sought to crush everything in a single strike!
