Exam Rules

The students of Class D stepped off the gangway one after another.

As they were the last to finish the inspection, their faces were etched with undeniable exhaustion after being exposed to the scorching sun for so long, and their footsteps appeared listless.

At this moment, the only thing they could think of was finding a cool place to escape the heat.

Many people lifted their collars to fan themselves, clearly showing no interest in the upcoming exam.

"Everyone! Please pay attention!"

Sae Chabashira stood at the front, her voice not particularly loud, yet carrying an unquestionable authority.

Her voice was enough to pierce through the students' low complaints, quickly capturing everyone's attention.

The surroundings gradually quieted down, and everyone turned their gazes toward her.

Sae Chabashira scanned the crowd, and seeing that they had finally quieted down, she continued.

"I believe you have already heard the announcement on the ship."

She paused slightly, scanning the face of each student, her tone shifting to carry a hint of coldness.

"The first special exam for you at this Advanced Nurturing High School is about to officially begin."

"I recall you have been complaining about not having enough points; now, this is your best opportunity!"

As soon as she finished speaking, many people looked up, a trace of unease and curiosity flashing in their eyes.

"The duration of this exam is one week, from now until August 7th," Sae Chabashira said, gesturing slightly toward the island behind her with a serious tone.

"And the location of the exam—is this very Uninhabited Island behind me."

Upon hearing Sae Chabashira solemnly announce that "the location of the exam is this Uninhabited Island," Class D erupted into an instant uproar.

Everyone looked at each other, clearly unable to accept such an arrangement.

Ike Kanji raised his hand directly, shouting with a face full of disbelief: "Sae Chabashira! What could we possibly be tested on at an Uninhabited Island? Don't tell me we have to learn how to make fire and cook?"

Sae Chabashira glanced at him coldly, showing no intention of backing down, her tone as serious as ever.

"Not only that. Aside from the two tents provided initially, the school will only provide you with two flashlights, one box of matches, one toothbrush per person, and an unlimited supply of sunscreen and feminine hygiene products."

"Other than that, the school will not provide any [free assistance], which naturally includes the 'making fire and cooking' you just mentioned."

As soon as she finished, the students erupted with an even more intense reaction.

Ike Kanji and Yamauchi Haruki looked at each other, their faces full of shock, and shouted almost simultaneously: "This... are you kidding me!"

Ignoring the constant complaining from Ike and Yamauchi, Hirata stepped out from the class ranks, clearly not wanting this exam to start amidst a chorus of grievances.

"Teacher, you just said that the school won't provide free assistance, right? I wonder how we can obtain paid assistance? If it's by using private points to buy them..."

His gaze swept across Class A, Class B, and Class C, who were also receiving the rules explanation nearby.

"Wouldn't that be a bit too unfair?"

Upon hearing this, Sae Chabashira smiled slightly, though the smile carried a cold mockery as she said flatly:

"Hirata, as your teacher, I will kindly give you an extra lesson: do not think that everyone is equal. In this school, equality is the most ridiculous thing of all."

Hirata was stunned upon hearing this, clearly struck by these words which challenged some of his core beliefs.

He was just about to say something, but Sae Chabashira had already waved her hand, interrupting him without mercy.

"However, for this exam, the school will provide a uniform amount of points, so don't worry. Each class will receive an identical 300 exam points, which can be used to purchase any supplies."

"You can absolutely live a fairly decent life for these seven days relying on these 300 exam points."

Hearing this, the students of Class D finally breathed a sigh of relief, showing expressions of relaxation as if a heavy stone had been lifted from their hearts.

However, Hirata still frowned slightly, clearly still having unresolved doubts.

"Sae Chabashira!" Hirata asked aloud, "Then what is the true purpose of this exam? It can't just be to let us 'vacation' on the island, right?"

Sae Chabashira smiled slightly, clearly having anticipated his question.

"Of course, it is not as simple as just a vacation. When the exam ends in seven days, the remaining exam points of your class will be directly converted into class points—in other words, the less you spend, the more points your class will receive in the end."

She paused, her gaze sweeping over the face of every student one by one with unquestionable seriousness.

"If you can manage to 'spend zero points' during this exam, then the class points for Class D will increase by a full 300 points."

"However, remember that every expenditure means a certain degree of convenience, and how to balance survival and resource consumption on this desert island depends entirely on your choices."

Nearby, Hoshinomiya, the teacher for Class B, seemed to have finished explaining the exam rules to her class and walked over to Sae Chabashira's side.

"Little Sae~ saying it like that won't do~ I wouldn't want to see you get expelled for violating school regulations," she said with a smile.

Sae Chabashira frowned slightly at these words and glanced at her coldly.

"I am not violating any rules. If you have other opinions, please go and report them to the school, Hoshinomiya."

"Just kidding~ How could I betray my own colleague? Don't you think so, Little~ Sae~"

Sae Chabashira pursed her lips and continued explaining the rules, though it was clearly much more concise and straightforward.

"Aside from this, each class will have one temporary leader, and there will be several campsites scattered across the island."

"The leader can go to a campsite to occupy it and clock in; each clock-in will add one temporary point, with no limit on the number of clock-ins."

As soon as Chabashira finished speaking, the eyes of the students in Class D shimmered with excitement.

They seemed to be already calculating how to accumulate a massive amount of points through constant check-ins, easily securing more resources for their class.

However, noticing their eagerness, Chabashira immediately let out a cold smirk and continued in a flat, icy tone:

"But don't get too happy yet—if your 'temporary leader' is guessed by another class, all your check-in points will be wiped out, and you will even be penalized an additional fifty points."

"In other words, the points you worked so hard to earn could vanish in an instant."

"However, you are also allowed to guess the leaders of other classes; guessing correctly adds fifty points, while guessing incorrectly results in a deduction of fifty points."

Immediately following this, Chabashira distributed a guidebook for everyone to pass around.

Onizuka flipped through it briefly until he reached the final page.

1. Anyone deemed by the school to be suffering from significant physical discomfort will have thirty points deducted and be withdrawn from the exam.

2. Any behavior that pollutes the environment, including but not limited to littering or relieving oneself in public, will result in a deduction of twenty points per instance.

3. Anyone absent from the mandatory 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM roll calls will have five points deducted per person, per instance.

4. Violent behavior is strictly prohibited; it will result in the disqualification of that class from this special exam and the confiscation of all personal points.
