After a costly battle and a tightening blockade left the city short on supplies, Yaoye’s allies prepared for a decisive fight while Gu Fengchen took responsibility for Yan Ci.

• Gu Fengchen fought through Mobas’s ambush on the grain convoy, killed Black Venom, and routed the Snake People forces with his Heavenly Flame and Sword Intent.
• Gu Fengchen secluded himself in a concealed cave and broke through to One-Star Dou Emperor.
• Gu Fengchen returned to Yaoye’s palace, where the two spent the night together as the war continued.

Gu Fengchen helped the Jia Ma Empire repel Yan Ci, then the Chu Yun Empire and Snake People Tribe brought a far larger force against Desert City. As the city came under attack, Mofeng’s cavalry broke through the lax South Gate and raced into its streets.

• Gu Fengchen destroyed a Snake People siege vehicle and halted the advance, but a Poison Master attacked him with Gu Worms before Gu Fengchen killed him.
• Gu Fengchen fought Yan Ci through the day and night, survived Yan Ci’s life-draining saber strike, and beheaded him, forcing the Snake People Tribe to withdraw and regroup.
• Gu Fengchen volunteered to intercept Chu Yun Empire reinforcements as Xie Sanshi secured permission to lead an expedition against Desert City.
• Yun Shan urged Yun Yun to consider a husband, but Yun Yun rejected the Third Prince and compared him unfavorably with Gu Fengchen.

Gu Fengchen and Jia Ma Empire’s defenders battled Mofeng’s Snake People Tribe forces in Desert City, first turning the battle with ambushes and formations. As Gu Fengchen’s personal ties with Yaoye and Xiao Yi Xian deepened, Nan She grew stronger and threatened to break through the city walls.

• Gu Fengchen’s concealed traps and poisoned crossbow bolts devastated Mofeng’s vanguard, but the Snake People Tribe recovered and pushed through the streets toward the Combat Base.
• Nalan Feng killed the Southern King with a flaming-powder attack, then joined Gu Fengchen in breaking through Mofeng’s forces as repeating crossbows inflicted heavy casualties.
• Gu Fengchen defeated Mofeng with Heavenly Flames, while Yaoye’s defenders held off reinforcements until Ye Qianqian’s marketplace formation swallowed many of Mofeng’s exposed soldiers.
