Background / History

Ichinose had previously served as Student Council President in middle school. At the Advanced Nurturing High School, she becomes a central figure in Class B through her kindness, popularity, and willingness to act for her classmates 11 42.

She first contacts Beihai after seeing his forum offer, lending him 50,000 Personal Points despite recognizing that she could be scammed. In return, she receives information about the school’s system and rules. Rather than make an exclusive arrangement with the school, she shares the information with Class B and trades it with other classes for resources 4 9.

After spending 150,000 points to arrange a personal meeting with Beihai, Ichinose explains that she mainly wanted to thank him. Beihai makes their relationship explicitly transactional by setting a 1,000,000-point buyout for exclusive services; Ichinose later pays it, securing his support for Class B 5 14.

When Class C begins harassing and threatening Class B over the information trade, Ichinose turns to Beihai for advice. She rejects his proposal to endanger a Class B student by using them as bait, instead collecting evidence and approaching the Student Council. Her class presents united testimony against Class C, leading to a settlement in which Class C pays three million points and is deterred from targeting Class B for a month 9 11 13 14.

Ichinose keeps Beihai’s involvement in Class B’s strategy secret. When Arisu Sakayanagi correctly suspects that the campaign against Class C was not Ichinose’s own style, Ichinose admits there is someone assisting her but refuses to identify him 26.

Before the May examinations, Ichinose follows Beihai’s suggestion to have her homeroom teacher exchange Class A’s examination file bags. The operation costs heavily in Personal Points, but Class B gains more than 1,000 Class Points and overtakes the original Class A 31 35.

Later, she agrees to assist Beihai with a high-risk plan without knowing its full details and receives more than 20 million points through her Terminal. Following the capture of a shopkeeper who harassed her, she truthfully maintains that she does not know the source or purpose of the points during Student Council questioning. At Beihai’s request, she transfers half of the resulting compensation to Airisu Sakura 42 44 45.

When Chihiro Shiranami confesses to her, Ichinose seeks Beihai’s advice because she does not want to hurt Chihiro. She ultimately rejects the confession, explaining that she does not share those feelings, while agreeing to remain friends 47 48.

Personality

Ichinose is exceptionally kind and trusting. She lends points to Beihai after only limited contact, treats his information as worth the risk, and remains willing to help him even when she does not fully understand his request 4 42. Her friendliness is genuine enough that Class B is strongly united around her, while even Class C recognizes that she can easily make friends across class boundaries 14 42.

Despite her “angel” reputation, she can be decisive and pragmatic when Class B is threatened. She gathers evidence, negotiates with the Student Council, protects Beihai’s identity, and approves the exam-paper exchange that elevates her class 11 26 35. However, she prefers restraint over crushing opponents and is uncomfortable when her actions cause serious harm or appear excessively harsh 13 14.

Ichinose struggles with choices that may hurt others personally. She refuses to use a classmate as bait against Class C and becomes deeply anxious over how to reject Shiranami’s confession without damaging their friendship 11 48.
