Background / History
In his previous life, Beihai was a slacker and gacha-game player who shared game resources and translation patches online. He died after an online argument escalated to fatal anger. In heaven, a winged bird-man granted him three wishes—endless money, overwhelming power, and for everything to go his way—but stated that they would only be fulfilled after Beihai returned to his original world. His route home is to become the national top scholar, after which he is reincarnated with a system. 1
His rebirth begins badly: he is born in a toilet, cannot understand the local language, and grows up with an absent mother and an abusive alcoholic father. Unable to rely on his family, he adopts an “energy-saving principle”: spend no effort on anything beyond survival and studying. His desire to avoid being sold off by his father and to return home drives him into obsessive academic work despite initially ranking near the bottom of his grade. 1
Beihai deliberately conceals himself behind an awkward shut-in persona and enters Advanced Nurturing High School for its tuition-free education, living support, and stable study environment. There, he joins Class D and immediately begins gathering information about the school's point system and class hierarchy. 2 3
Appearance
Beihai initially presents himself as an unremarkable, gloomy otaku in order to discourage attention. His exhausted appearance increasingly reflects the strain of his study routine. 1 2 35
- Wears thick, round glasses to conceal his appearance. 1
- Keeps long hair and affects a withdrawn, gaming-obsessed image. 2
- Is stated to possess unusually attractive features beneath the disguise. 1
- Often has visible dark circles and fatigue from sleep deprivation. 35
Personality
Beihai is pragmatic, observant, and intensely self-directed. He views time, attention, and points as resources, avoiding social commitments that interfere with studying. His quiet persona is largely deliberate; before reincarnation, he was more talkative, enjoyed games, and made crude jokes with friends. 5 27
He is highly manipulative when pursuing a goal. He sells intelligence under the name Agent 17, exploits loopholes in the school's systems, and can turn another person's schemes against them. His tactics range from calculated information trading to blackmail and engineered confrontations. 4 39 43
Despite this ruthlessness, Beihai is protective of the people within his chosen circle. He defends Airisu Sakura from rumors, provides her with snacks and academic help, worries about Honami Ichinose's safety and mental state, and places unusual trust in Kiyotaka. 8 14 19 45
Abilities & Skills
Mind Sharing
Beihai obtains a thought-sharing connection with Honami Ichinose after trading information for points. The connection gives him access to her exceptionally capable academic thinking, making previously difficult schoolwork much easier to understand and solve. 4 6
- Allows him to solve academic problems with far greater speed and clarity. 6 14
- Becomes more active when Ichinose is mentally engaged and studying. 14 31 42

System Traits
Beihai's system grants several traits that compensate for his former lack of academic discipline and physical limitations. 1
- Involution King — Enables extreme study intensity and sustained effort, though the burden on his body is severe. 1 2
- Body Carved by Gods — Grants exceptional physical condition, strength, speed, and appearance. 1
- Hidden Goblin Warrior — Reinforces his self-aware, restrained persona around attractive girls. 1 2
- Indomitable — Lets him continue functioning despite accumulated exhaustion, although it does not prevent him from collapsing asleep after prolonged overwork. 22
Physical Ability
Beihai possesses strength and reflexes beyond normal human limits. When Kikyo Kushida attempts to frame him after discovering that he overheard her true personality, he physically defends himself and reverses the situation. 38 39
- Punched Haruki Yamauchi after he spread a rumor about Airisu Sakura. 8
- Reacted quickly enough to resist Kushida's attempted setup. 38
- Easily subdued an enraged older man who attacked him. 43
- Avoids publicly displaying his physical ability to preserve his low-profile image. 19
Information Brokerage and Strategy
Operating anonymously as Agent 17, Beihai gathers, records, and sells information through the school forum. His services include intelligence, advice, and a costly exclusive buyout right. 3 4
- Recorded upperclassmen discussing the class competition system without being detected. 3
- Established rates of 50,000 points for information, 100,000 for a task, and 1,000,000 for exclusive buyout rights. 4

- Uses social analysis to recognize disguises, ulterior motives, and weaknesses in others. 2 28 38
Gaming and Analytical Play
Beihai is an experienced gamer whose pattern recognition carries into competitive games. He can read opponents' habits and predict decisions during matches. 16
- Defeated Kiyotaka in a fighting game by anticipating his attacks and blocking a multi-hit move within 0.35 seconds. 16
- Identified Kiyotaka's rigid, maximum-efficiency playstyle and advised him to be less predictable. 16
- Treats games and films as meaningful hobbies, though he resists them when they threaten his study schedule. 20 21 49

Story Role / Major Arcs
Agent 17 and the Class B Alliance
Beihai begins anonymously selling school intelligence as Agent 17 and attracts Honami Ichinose as his first major client. Their transaction grants him Mind Sharing, transforming his academic ability and giving him a major incentive to support Class B. 4 6
When Class C harasses Class B, Beihai proposes using evidence and Student Council corruption against them. The resulting settlement costs Class C three million Class Points and secures Class B a month of safety. Ichinose then spends one million points to buy Beihai out from Class D, making his support of Class B official. 10 13 14
Class D Circle
While avoiding most of Class D's cliques, Beihai builds a small circle around Airisu Sakura and Kiyotaka. He protects Sakura from Yamauchi's rumor, maintains their quiet routine of snacks and walks home, and gradually allows Kiyotaka into their circle. 6 8 19
His friendship with Kiyotaka repeatedly conflicts with his study obsession. They game, watch films, challenge clubs for points, and discuss Kiyotaka's unusually rigid education and false “average student” persona. 16 20 21 28
Kushida Conflict
Beihai and Kiyotaka follow Kushida to a grove and witness her openly venting the hostility concealed beneath her friendly public image. When Kushida attempts to frame Beihai for indecent assault, he uses the school's “Samurai Duel” loophole, physical skill, and photographic evidence to force her into submission. 38 39
Exam Manipulation and Class B's Rise
Beihai urges Ichinose to create disruption during the May examinations by arranging an exam-paper swap. Class B's strategy succeeds: Class A's results are sabotaged, while Class B gains enough Class Points to rise to the top rank. 31 35
Shopkeeper Incident
Beihai manipulates an older shopkeeper obsessed with Shizuku, taking his points while refusing to surrender her. When the man attacks, Beihai subdues him and security intervenes. 41 43
During the subsequent shopkeeper case involving Honami and Airisu, Beihai instructs both girls to deny knowledge and maintains his own innocent façade under Manabu Horikita's interrogation. The Student Council cannot prove his involvement, while Beihai later ensures Sakura receives part of the mental-distress compensation. 44 45
Notable Quotes

“I don't know. I'm innocent. I don't know anything.” 44
