Background / History

The Body Sect is an ancient, semi-reclusive sect whose members possess Original Body Martial Souls—martial souls formed from parts of their own bodies. Though ordinary soul masters may not know of its existence, it possesses sufficient strength and heritage for Shrek Academy to treat it warily. Its reputation is neither righteous nor evil; it is known for acting freely and recklessly when pursuing its interests. 3 11

Du Bùsǐ leads the sect with the ambition of making it the continent's number one sect, particularly in opposition to Shrek's long-standing dominance. He accepts Ye Linyuan as a disciple after learning of his Twin Martial Souls, then immediately identifies him as the sect's future hope. 3 8 12

Upon returning with Ye Linyuan, Du Bùsǐ publicly appoints him the next Sect Heir despite having previously intended to cultivate Long Aotian for the position. The decision is accepted without open hostility; Long Aotian responds with curiosity and battle intent rather than jealousy. 11

Location

The Body Sect's cultivation grounds are concealed within the Heaven Dou Empire's Royal Hunting Ground, north of Sky Dou City. The site is officially restricted to direct members of the imperial family, providing the sect with security and seclusion while keeping it close to the capital. 11

The compound surrounds a large lake and consists of several hundred buildings in mixed styles, ranging from villas to simple cottages. Its layout and atmosphere resemble a village more than a formal sect headquarters. 11

The Heavenly Soul royal family provides basic necessities—including food, clothing, daily goods, and construction materials—in exchange for the sect's protection when Sky Dou City faces enemies beyond the empire's ability to handle. Du Bùsǐ insists that the sect must remain relatively independent rather than becoming an extension of the royal family. 12

The sect also earns money when its master and elders handle dangerous assignments, such as eliminating bandit groups or evil soul masters. 12

Lake Bottom Fishing

Ye Linyuan proposes a hotpot business partnership between the Body Sect and the Heavenly Soul royal family to resolve the sect's financial problems. 37
