Taking the Fall, Fleeing Without a Fight
"Boss, leader, we really didn't do anything."
"Before we could even make a move, the other side threw a volley of grenades, and several of our brothers were injured, so we quickly ran back."
"Yes, we didn't even have time to fire a single shot."
"We swear that if we have told even half a lie, may we suffer a terrible death."
"Boss, leader, please investigate this thoroughly!"
The boss raised his chin, and several of his men took out the firearms they had confiscated from these men. After checking the bullets and magazines, they said, "Reporting, boss, the bullets are still there, and the magazines are all in stock."
A foreman in charge of ammunition also came to reply, "I checked the warehouse records; they didn't replenish the ammunition after they returned."
The leader was somewhat taken aback. So, they really were scared away without firing a single shot?
It's a bit embarrassing, but it's good that no shots were fired; there's probably some misunderstanding.
Could it be that besides the Blood Feast Blood Feast, someone else is stirring up trouble and trying to pin the blame on them?
The second-in-command looked at the boss with a gloomy expression.
"Even if our people really didn't fire, given the Blood Feast Organization's past practices, we'll probably have to take the blame."
Boss: "How do you think we should respond to this declaration of war?"
The second-in-command said, "This time, the enemy only sent one person, yet they managed to outmaneuver us completely. If he hadn't come to declare war, he alone would have been enough to wipe us all out."
The leader said, "What an arrogant act! It's as if launching a war is something they can do with ease. They're abiding by some set rules, mercifully giving their opponents equal time to prepare."
"This is based on the opponent's strong confidence in their strength. They are very confident that they can take us down even without a surprise attack."
In the past, the leader of the Blood Feast would not have believed that any force could accomplish such a thing.
If they can't win, they run. When the Blood Feast Armed Forces encounter a powerful enemy, they can break up into smaller groups. At most, only a portion of them will be eliminated, while most will escape and then regroup.
Then, the immortal Blood Feast transformed into rabid hounds, retaliating fiercely.
Those who have nothing to lose are not afraid of those who wear shoes.
The locations of the various gathering places are right there, making it much easier for them to find a gathering place when they are being retaliated against, compared to the Blood Feast Organization which has no fixed abode.
As a result, many settlements merely issued symbolic arrest warrants for the Blood Feast Armed Forces Blood Feast Armed Forces, and few settlements actually took the serious step of eradicating them.
The Blood Feast Armed Forces have been running rampant for so long, but this time they've stumbled upon a meat grinder out of nowhere.
He's gotten himself completely entangled.
"We can't beat them, and we can't escape."
"Let's move some people out. This is truly a life-or-death battle. Perhaps, the Blood Feast will perish from this point on."
The leader has already started mobilizing the members of the Blood Feast.
Some people haven't experienced the other party's bizarre manipulation methods, so their fear of that person isn't as profound.
Why should their leaders be afraid of the other side?
"He's just a kid, and he's all alone. Even though he has that monster as a pet, he can't stay on that monster's body forever, can he?"
"Yes, as long as we kill him when he's alone, wouldn't that be the end of it?"
His subordinates were discussing it enthusiastically.
They showed no fear of the battle that was about to begin.
This is a good thing; at least when facing combat, they won't be so afraid that they can't even pick up a gun.
But the leaders who had experienced their bodies becoming involuntary were terrified, for they feared the other party's unpredictable and mysterious abilities.
Once they've experienced this despair and fear of losing control of their bodies, they never want to experience it again.
"No matter how you look at it, there's no way to fight against that kind of monster, right?"
Is he even human?
"Perhaps it's a mutant bred through human experimentation by some organization?"
"You know, people in those large communities are just that crazy. Haven't they done enough human experimentation?"
"Perhaps this is the product of their experiments."
"It's not that his organization is called the Anomaly Containment Association; none of those large gathering places have that name."
Are you going to stay?
Several leaders gathered together in private.
"I can't think of any way to beat him."
"Why don't we just surrender?"
"Will they let us go if we surrender? Are we just a waste of food if they keep us around?"
Because the Blood Feast Armed Forces always leaves no survivors, they believed that the other side would not do the same.
"Do you intend to run away?"
"What? Do you really have that kind of laughable loyalty to the organization?"
"If one hadn't abandoned all the good qualities of humanity, who would want to join a notorious band of robbers?"
The leaders pondered for a while.
Then they all went their separate ways.
Then, taking advantage of the oppressive darkness of the night...
These leaders, along with their trusted confidants and belongings, left the camp overnight.
The leader of the Blood Feast was well aware of the unrest among his subordinates, but he simply didn't want to get involved.
Anyway, it's hard to say whether the Blood Feast Organization will still exist by the day the declaration of war arrives.
The second-in-command paced back and forth in his room, hands behind his back, deep in thought. He didn't want to give up the position he had worked so hard to achieve, but he also didn't want to face that strange monster.
His expression shifted between anger and uncertainty, but he finally made up his mind, taking his possessions, his children, and dozens of his men with him as he left the camp.
The day of the declaration of war was set as the following day.
Most of those who made the decision fled the camp overnight.
Early the next morning.
The leader of the Blood Feast, who hadn't slept all night, sat at the head of the table. His face was haggard, as if he had aged more than ten years overnight.
How many people left?
"Boss, seven leaders have left, including the top leader."
It's not surprising at all that the Blood Feast boss was involved.
The people in the organization are there for profit. They wouldn't give up the Blood Feast if it were just minor troubles, but when it comes to a situation where death is inevitable, don't expect these cunning people to stay and fight together.
"Let's go. It's better that they leave. At least some seeds will be left behind. Perhaps in the future, people will know that such a fearsome organization once existed in this Wilderness."
His subordinates complained indignantly on his behalf, "It's just that we were declared war on. We, the Blood Feast Armed Forces, are not some weak force. They just ran away like that, and the leader even took a batch of guns and ammunition with him."
Let them be.
"Alright, pass the word down to prepare for battle at any time."
"Yes."
On the other side.
Bai Zuo and the others, on the other hand, slept well.
The newcomers were all incredibly excited.
Ji Wu extinguished their enthusiasm with a single sentence. "You can control strange abilities?"
