The Monster Between Mirror and Reality
This is an intuition.
Shanshan stared at the two unidentified creatures in front of her, their expressions stiff as they pretended to be her friends, offering her words of comfort and concern.
Is this also part of the game?
Are these two people staff members of the haunted house?
That's incredibly dedicated!
And can this makeup technique really transform someone completely?
It's almost as good as disguise, isn't it?
"Shanshan, who is your best friend?"
Her friend suddenly asked that question.
Shanshan's face froze, and a chill ran down her spine.
Something's not right. If they were really her friends, they wouldn't ask her that.
"Shanshan." A hand rested on her shoulder; the strange touch was stiff, cold, and strangely familiar, unlike anything she'd ever felt.
Shanshan remembered; she had felt this sensation before when touching those mannequins.
Shanshan couldn't help but scream.
She abruptly shook off her friend's arm and darted out. She saw a camera installed in a haunted house and immediately stood below it, waving her hands frantically to pause the game.
Usually at this point, staff from the haunted house will come and take her away.
However, Shanshan waited for a long time, but no staff member came.
She became even more frightened.
Upon hearing footsteps approaching from behind, she turned and disappeared into a room without looking back.
Two stiff-limbed people, their expressions growing increasingly ashen, walked over in a strange posture. They stopped in front of the camera, looked around, and seemed to be searching for something.
They quickly determined their direction and set off again.
That direction was exactly where Shanshan had run off to.
Five minutes passed.
A worker dressed in terrifying attire walked by carrying a chainsaw and a walkie-talkie. "Strange, there's nobody here."
"These tourists are really good at hiding; they're all masters of hide-and-seek! I've been searching for so long, and I've only managed to eliminate one couple."
"Control room, check the surveillance footage to see where those people are hiding, and how's the search for clues going?"
"It would be a huge embarrassment if they all found the exit before I even made my appearance."
Based on the storyline of the first playthrough.
Players find clues in various rooms and then locate Lilith, played by a staff member. Lilith asks the player to help her escape the castle, triggering a chase with the "ghost."
If he hadn't appeared at that time, wouldn't the plot have been incomplete?
Fortunately, cameras were installed throughout the haunted house, partly for the safety of visitors and partly to prevent some visitors from being too sneaky and hiding so that staff could not find them.
The control room immediately located each tourist's position from the surveillance footage and began reporting their location to them.
"There are three tourists in room number 3 looking for clues."
There are two tourists in room number 5.
There are three tourists in Corridor 1.
There are four tourists in corridor number 2.
"... That's strange, weren't there two tourists over there? Didn't you see them?"
"Where?"
The staff member glanced around; the corridor was empty, with a clear view from end to end, and there was nowhere to hide.
The only thing was the mirrors that filled the entire corridor.
As the worker dragged the chainsaw past, he glanced in the mirror and was startled by his own reflection.
"Hey! You know what, this outfit is actually pretty scary, quite frightening at first glance."
The staff member struck a menacing, threatening pose before setting off again to search for the players.
Just as he stepped out of the corridor, he didn't see a flash of light in the mirror.
A series of hurried footsteps came from inside the mirror.
Two girls ran frantically and stumbled along the corridor, where they frantically pounded on the mirror.
But no matter how much they shouted or cried for help, no one outside the corridor heard them.
The terrifying monster caught up with them again, and they had no choice but to keep running.
A person dressed exactly like a staff member appears in the mirror.
However, compared to the staff's clearly monstrous appearance made of hoods and makeup.
The person in front of me seemed more real. The head that had been stitched up had wounds that had not healed, and blood would occasionally seep out from the stitches as he moved.
Some of the sutures seemed a little loose, and the two pieces of flesh that were connected were about to fall off, but were barely hanging on the face thanks to the sutures.
Its eyes were far more ferocious than the actors portrayed; they were filled with bloodthirsty killing intent. There was no doubt that if it caught up with them, the chainsaw that was constantly clicking in its hand would fall on them.
It dragged its chainsaw, emitting a terrifying, eerie laugh, and slowly followed the two girls away.
Unfortunately, this scene was not witnessed by those outside.
On the other side.
The tourists are still actively searching for clues.
They've basically figured out most of the game's background from the first playthrough.
"The game's premise is that Lilith is trapped in a castle and desperately wants a friend."
So she made a wish to the mirror, saying she wanted a friend, and the mirror granted her wish.
"Lilith did indeed have a friend, but this friend was a monster that came out of the mirror."
"It killed everyone in the castle, turned the servants and guards into dummies, and chopped the Duke's head into countless pieces, turning it into a monster that guards the castle, specifically to punish those who trespass."
"In the first playthrough, you only need to find Lilith and then escape the castle with Lilith guidance."
Finding clues wasn't difficult; it was just that the scene was so large and there were so many rooms that searching through them one by one would take a lot of time.
It's no wonder that this is a game for twenty people. With fewer people, it would take much longer to find clues, and there probably wouldn't be enough time to find all the clues.
"This note has a string of numbers written on it; I don't know what it means."
"I found a treasure chest, but it's locked. I need a password to open it."
"Could these numbers be the password?"
"No, there are eleven numbers, but the password on the treasure chest is only three digits."
Chen Ming looked at everyone; there were now eighteen players left in the room.
Two players, the couple, have been caught up by the monster and eliminated; this message is displayed on a monitor.
It says that they have become lost in the castle and have become part of it.
In reality, they were eliminated.
"We can't stay here too long. That monster is still searching for us and will be here soon."
"Hey, didn't you say you had great analytical skills? Why are you silent now?"
"You can't possibly be unable to say it, can you?"
