Tabletop RPG Society, Escape Room
As the newcomer Lu Zhe was running, he suddenly twisted his ankle.
Then he fell flat on his face in front of everyone.
With that fall, he completely lost sight of someone who had disappeared into the crowd.
He looked down at the ground and sure enough, a protruding rock had appeared at his feet.
The fact that they could predict his actions, place this stone on his path, and calculate that his attention was focused on Mi Lan who was about to run away and that he wouldn't be paying attention to his footing would cause him to trip.
The only people who could have foreseen this, besides a senior he'd heard of named Bai Zuo, were probably this senior Mi Lan, whom he followed.
Oh, that's terrible.
I didn't sleep at all last night, and I didn't even have time to eat breakfast this morning before I had to go on a mission with Senior Mi Lan. In the end, even though I tried my best to keep up, Senior Mi Lan still managed to leave me behind.
Lu Zhe lay sprawled on the ground, head bowed, tears streaming silently down his face. It was too tragic, too tragic. Could anyone be more of a loser than him?
A person walked up to him and asked, "Why are you lying here?"
Lu Zhe looked up and saw Yu Ba, the Supervisor, wearing a mask and a black trench coat. He was holding several bags of hot breakfast and was handing one of them to Lu Zhe.
"You haven't had breakfast yet, have you? I bought some breakfast; why don't you eat first?"
"Thank you, thank you for Supervisor, Yu Ba!" Lu Zhe gratefully accepted the bag containing breakfast.
"Sorry, I lost track of Senior Mi Lan."
Even if his contracted strangeness grants him tracking abilities, there are limits to how far he can accurately track objects within a kilometer.
Any further away, and he could only vaguely sense a direction.
"Let's finish breakfast first." Yu Ba pulled him up from the ground, looking at the dejected newcomer.
I sighed inwardly; yet another pitiful creature.
Another person has been tormented by Mi Lan.
Yu Ba was recently assigned to Supervisor Mi Lan, and he knew, of course, that the Contract Anomalist who could be Supervisor were all torturous in personality and behavior.
Even though I was mentally prepared, Mi Lan was still particularly torturous.
Mi Lan is deeply influenced by the Bai Zuo and is fond of mind control, conspiracies, tricks, manipulating people's hearts, malice, and manipulating and dominating human nature.
He especially enjoyed toying with these things during missions; ordinary people, the supernatural beings, and even the native inhabitants of the Dungeon were all treated like toys by Mi Lan.
They are subjected to an excessively cruel game of imitation.
However, the biggest difference between Mi Lan and Bai Zuo is that Bai Zuo's control over people's hearts has reached a perfect level, and no flaw can escape his control.
Mi Lan is inferior to Bai Zuo in both intelligence and experience, so when he experiments with these plans, some significant flaws often appear.
This vulnerability can sometimes lead to terrible consequences.
He didn't just get involved himself.
This will also drag the newcomers and Yu Ba in with them.
He was already in the trap, and that was that. Yu Ba had plenty of experience in getting himself out of all sorts of disasters caused by the Contract Anomalist.
However, every newcomer he mentored would suffer an indelible and powerful psychological trauma, including but not limited to trembling, stomach aches, phantom pains, and blurred vision upon seeing Mi Lan.
Newcomers are the future of the Anomaly Containment Association.
If these new recruits develop mental health issues, they will likely become problematic Contract Anomalist, continuing to cause trouble for the Supervision Department.
With a hopeless future looming, this dire situation cannot be ignored.
The higher-ups issued an emergency order, Time Stop Mi Lan's work of leading new recruits on missions.
As for Lu Zhe...
Because of his unique abilities, he was able to pinpoint Mi Lan 'Mi Lan location more effectively and was assigned to stay by her side.
Lu Zhe opened the bag; inside were steamed dumplings, shumai, meat buns, soy milk, and fried dough sticks for breakfast.
The portion was enough to fill him up.
Unable to resist the hunger in his stomach, Lu Zhe picked it up and stuffed it into his mouth.
Having grown accustomed to the all-natural, additive-free food in the Headquarters cafeteria, it's quite a treat to occasionally enjoy food from outside that's packed with advanced technology.
Lu Zhe ate with relish, and his dejected mood vanished completely.
Yu Ba took a steamed bun and started eating it. As soon as he took a bite, he could tell that the meat wasn't very fresh.
However, he wasn't too picky about the food sold outside.
After finishing in a few bites, he looked at Lu Zhe, who had regained his composure.
Perhaps there's some merit to Headquarters assigning Lu Zhe to Mi Lan.
Although Lu Zhe is timid and never dares to confront the supernatural head-on, he is actually very resilient. When he encounters setbacks, even if he cannot overcome them, he will not be easily defeated by his emotions.
Could this be considered one of his strengths?
Yu Ba thought to himself.
Lu Zhe had no idea that Yu Ba Supervisor considered mature, stable, and reliable, would think of him this way.
After finishing his meal, he found a trash can and threw his trash in.
Then he used his ability to locate Mi Lan's position.
"Senior Mi Lan is there."
Although there's only a vague direction, having a direction at all is enough.
After finishing his breakfast and throwing away the trash in his hand, Yu Ba drove out on a very cool motorcycle.
"Get in, let's drive there quickly, otherwise his breakfast will get cold and he'll start complaining again."
Lu Zhe quickly climbed onto the back seat of the motorcycle.
This motorcycle is incredibly cool, and of course, the price is equally impressive; it's definitely more than a month's salary he could afford.
What boy wouldn't want to own a cool and stylish motorcycle like this?
Once Yu Ba saw that he was seated, he twisted the accelerator and sped off at a very high speed.
With his superb driving skills, he sped through the streets, as fast as the wind.
"Location?"
"About 800 meters to the right."
"Good."
Yu Ba a sharp turn, veering to the right.
It almost threw Lu Zhe, who was sitting in the back seat, out of the car.
Fortunately, Lu Zhe gripped the frame on the back seat tightly.
After many twists and turns...
They stopped in front of a running club building.
Lu Zhe's legs trembled, and his face was deathly pale as he vomited a few times, as if the breakfast he had just eaten was about to rush back up his throat.
If he sits there any longer, he'll probably throw up everything he just ate.
Motorcycles are nice, but I'll ride mine next time. Lu Zhe thought to himself.
"Is this the place?" Yu Ba parked his car and stood in front of the building.
This is a game venue that has been contracted out for use in role-playing games and escape rooms.
I heard it was very popular before.
But the place was sealed off after the incident.
This is also the location where they received their mission.
"I didn't expect him to obediently come to the mission location." Yu Ba pushed open the unlocked door.
Lu Zhe followed behind him, glancing around every now and then. "I've seen this place online. I heard that the escape game scenarios organized by this gaming club are really exciting. I was thinking of coming here to play one more time."
