Background

According to the legend received by Qian Yu, the Primordial Dao Tree existed before heaven and earth. Its branches embody Great Daos such as time, space, karma, and life and death; worlds are its leaves, while realms and planes hang from its branches as fruit. The world was said to have been born upon the tree rather than the tree being born within the world. 2

One of its seeds accompanied Qian Yu during his transmigration and fused with his soul. After gestating in his new world, it hatched as his avatar. Its early growth was constrained because Qian Yu was its primary body; it therefore lowered its own level and prioritized nurturing powers that would strengthen him. 2 5

Initially, its greatest contribution was extraordinary Dao comprehension rather than direct combat. As it matured, it began producing flowers and fruits, supplying energy, creating Qian Yu's Inner World and avatars, refining treasures, and ultimately granting him access to a phantom of its own power. 5 20 68 137

When it first hatches, the Primordial Dao Tree is an immense azure-green tree with a jade-like appearance and metallic texture. Its trunk is broad enough that hundreds of people would be needed to encircle it, while its bark and leaves bear profound patterns resembling manifestations of the Great Dao. 1
