Administration and Admissions

• Albus Dumbledore serves as Hogwarts' Headmaster and personally delivers Tom Marvolo Riddle's acceptance letter, including a required-supplies list and assurance of financial assistance. 1 2
• Hogwarts uses the Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance to identify magical children in Great Britain and Ireland. The Quill records a child's first magical manifestation, while the Book verifies sufficient magical aptitude. 15
• The Quill and Book were made by Hogwarts' four founders and have operated autonomously for roughly a millennium; Dumbledore regards them as reliable proof that Tom is not Voldemort returned, since they would not record the same person twice. 15
