Background / History

Harry grew up as an orphan adopted by the Dursleys. Before Hogwarts, Tom Riddle protected him from Dudley, helped him secure adequate food and clothing, and trained him physically; Harry came to regard Tom as his elder brother and principal protector 3.

Dumbledore escorted Harry and Tom to Diagon Alley, where Harry learned of the Potter family fortune at Gringotts. Grateful for Tom's help, Harry offered to share his inheritance with him, but Tom refused 4.
