Background / History

Kakashi grew up during a more chaotic era than the present and lost the people important to him. Those losses shaped his belief that strength exists to protect comrades rather than pursue revenge or destruction. 37

He was assigned as the jonin instructor of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Jimo. Though initially presenting himself as unreliable and secretive, he used the bell exercise to judge whether they would place comrades above individual success.
