He landed in the Forest of Death, met Naruto Uzumaki, and received the Anime Skill Template System after interacting with him. Choosing the Dragon Ball template, he acquired the Young Goku Template, including the Flying Nimbus, Saiyan Bloodline, Nyoi-Bo, Rock Paper Scissors, Monkey Fist, and Spinning Fist. 1

Jimo and Naruto enrolled at the Ninja Academy on the same day. When hostile villagers and parents shunned Naruto because of the Nine-Tails, Jimo stood up for him and the two became fast friends 3. Demonstrating exceptional talent, Jimo mastered the Three Basic Techniques – Transformation, Clone, and Substitution – in a single afternoon, drawing the attention of the Third Hokage and Iruka sensei 3. After graduating, Jimo joined Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura in Kakashi’s Team 7. Following a successful bridge-building mission, Jimo taught unique techniques to his teammates based on their strengths: Shockwave for the chakra-rich Naruto, Hole Hole Wave for the precise Sasuke, and weighted training for Sakura 16. The Third Hokage approved Jimo’s direct promotion to chunin from that mission, bypassing the standard exam, and soon after, the chunin exams were announced as a joint exercise with Sunagakure 16.

Chunin Exams
During the chunin exams, Jimo intervened when the Sound ninja attacked Sakura, brutally defeating Dosu and Zaku and scaring Kin into retreat 20. He provided Senzu Beans to his injured teammates and gave Sakura the scrolls she needed. Jimo then saved Hinata’s team by knocking Gaara unconscious with a single punch 20. Under Tsunade’s tutelage, Jimo and Sakura rapidly advanced in medical ninjutsu, though Jimo preferred combat missions and overworked himself to the point that Tsunade threatened to assign Anko as his minder 43. Anko later took him out to relax and enjoy village life, showing him the simple joys he had neglected 43. Jimo then traveled to Wave Country to visit Zabuza and Haku, finding that they had abandoned assassination and built a successful transport business. 44 He subsequently headed to Sunagakure, where he met Kankuro, Temari, and Gaara, learned of Gaara’s struggle with Shukaku, and warned them that Akatsuki was collecting tailed beasts 45. Return to Konoha and Conflict with Root
After a year of training with Gaara, Jimo returned to Konoha, reuniting with Tsunade, who was napping at her desk, and helping her with paperwork 48. He gave gifts to his classmates and found that Anko had been living in his house during his absence. That night, Root agents followed him, and Danzo personally extended an invitation to join the organization. Jimo refused 48. Over the following year, Jimo threw himself into missions and hospital work, grew close to the Rookie Nine, passed the jonin examination, and received an A-rank assessment from Tsunade. 50 51

Danzo continued to scheme against Tsunade, prompting Jimo to confront and brutally beat Danzo within an inch of his life, accusing him of causing trouble for the Hokage 68. Jimo also revealed his ability to use Wood Release and his Super Saiyan transformation, shocking Yamato and his teammates 69. Tsunade assigned Yamato to monitor Root members with Jimo’s help, and Sasori destroyed the Root headquarters in an explosion 68. Jimo later threatened Danzo again, referencing his use of First Hokage’s cells, and implied he would expose those secrets 106. Meanwhile, Sai was introduced to Naruto’s team as a replacement for Sasuke 68.

Akatsuki Conflicts and Sage Training
Jimo defeated Kakuzu and Hidan using Shadow Clones, Kamehameha, and an improved Wind Style: Spirit Energy Slash, though Kakuzu escaped and Hidan survived despite losing his lower body. 76 He met Yugito Nii afterward and invited her to Konoha. 76 Jimo also helped steer Naruto toward Sage Mode training, believing it would help Naruto improve his chakra control and complete the Rasenshuriken safely. 77

Five Kage Summit
At the Five Kage Summit, Jimo made a dramatic entrance, revealing that Tsunade had sent him 115. He exposed Danzo’s crimes – collusion with Orochimaru and inhumane experiments – and revoked Danzo’s status as Acting Hokage, ordering his arrest. When Danzo’s guards and samurai attacked, Jimo easily defeated them. Danzo fled, and Jimo took the Hokage’s seat, continuing to represent Konoha at the summit 115. The other Kage were astonished by his power, and Gaara and his siblings watched with concern.

After the summit, Jimo demonstrated his massive chakra reserves and a new Super Saiyan 3 form to the Five Kage, further cementing his reputation 121. He and Tsunade then devised an S-rank mission to lure Naruto away from the village for his own protection, with Jimo manipulating Naruto into accepting it 121.

Jinchuriki Training and Fourth Shinobi World War
During Naruto’s jinchuriki training, Jimo completed his inner trial by destroying Dark Jimo with a Spirit Bomb rather than reconciling with him. 127 128 He subsequently entered Naruto’s inner world and fought the Nine-Tails with Wood Release, impressing both Kurama and Killer B even while limited to a fraction of his normal power. 129 Jimo trained with Naruto, Yugito, and Killer B before the war, while his Giant Ape Form’s original advantages became increasingly obsolete compared to his base strength. 137

After using Instant Transmission and Flying Thunder God techniques against him, Jimo was trapped in another dimension through Kamui, but later returned through a spatial rift. 160 162 He fired a massive Kamehameha that pushed back a Ten-Tails Tailed Beast Bomb and later created a Ki barrier to protect allied shinobi. 166 176 However, in a later battle with Obito, Jimo was impaled by a Black Receiver and left critically wounded near the heart. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura came to his aid, with Sakura treating his injuries while Naruto and Sasuke continued the fight. 185 186
