One was to capture Davidson. The other was to deal with the Qinglin Squad.

But Cheadle's message could be summed up like this:

"The Hunter Association walked into an ambush by the Qinglin Squad but won with minimal losses. Davidson, however, escaped."

Failing to capture Davidson meant the operation had failed.

The message wasn't an operation report, so it didn't go into detail. Its main purpose was to let Moyu know the outcome.

From the little Cheadle's message revealed, he could piece together a rough picture of what had happened.

The Qinglin Squad must have learned about the Hunter Association's operation somehow.

With the initiative on their side, they had used Davidson as bait and set a trap for the Hunter Association.

The Hunter Association, forced to react, had inevitably fallen into the ambush.

Even so, the ambushed Hunters had routed the Qinglin Squad.

Cheadle hadn't described the battle, but Moyu suspected Netero had dominated the entire battlefield on his own.

It could exert overwhelming pressure in a one-on-one fight, and in a group battle, its wide-ranging attacks were terrifying.

With a formidable old man like that on the field, Moyu couldn't imagine the Hunter Association losing.

Even if the Qinglin Squad had a rule-based Nen Ability capable of killing in a single strike...
