Netero was a veteran explorer who reached the Dark Continent twice in his youth. During one expedition, he traveled with Linne Market and Zigg Zoldyck; when the Gatekeeper Magical Beast Speedy Men nearly killed Zigg, Netero saved him with the 100-Type Guanyin and defeated the creature with a single palm strike. 401 634 635

He became the Hunter Association’s chairman and the highest-ranking official of the Hunter Exam Examination Committee. Despite his deliberately idle public behavior, he retained responsibility for major Nen-related crises and personally directed Association operations. 100 370

Netero placed a Restriction on his son, Beyond Netero, preventing Beyond from returning to the Dark Continent while Netero lived. The Restriction became the central condition of Beyond’s eventual challenge to the death. 547 562 563
