Background / History

Jiang Ming is a transmigrator who understood from an early age that a Space-type Martial Soul’s true path lay in the intrinsic properties of space—shattering, cutting, displacement, confinement, and folding—rather than the defensive route advocated by Yu Xiaogang. He publicly demonstrated spatial cutting without a soul ring or soul skill, humiliating Yu Xiaogang and refusing to follow his theories. 1

Seeking the Blue Silver Emperor’s life force and future physical potential, Jiang Ming infiltrated the area around Holy Soul Village while Tang Hao was occupied protecting Tang San. He ultimately obtained the Blue Silver Emperor’s Seed of Life and later absorbed its Right Leg Bone, making its tremendous vitality a central component of his survival and physical growth. 2 3 13 43 190

Jiang Ming possessed a spatial-type martial soul from the outset, making him unusually conspicuous to spatial soul beasts; he recognized that such creatures could perceive him as a spatial “coordinate,” kin, threat, or prey. 5 11

He killed a Space-Rending Beast after exhausting his soul power and suffering severe injuries, ending the fight by stabbing its eye and destroying its brain. He then risked absorbing its six-hundred-year soul ring, relying on the Blue Silver Emperor’s vitality to survive the backlash and evolve physically. 12 13

After withdrawing from Nuoding Academy, Jiang Ming spent three years at Suotuo City’s Soul Fighting Arena under the codename Boundless. The matches earned him nearly 30,000 Gold Soul Coins and refined his control of spatial rifts to the point that he could sever a leaf’s veins from three zhang away without damaging the leaf itself. 8 16

Xue Qinghe rewarded Jiang Ming for curing her Spring Poison with a high-level meditation technique, a token granting access to the Crown Prince Mansion, and the promise of a thousand-year spatial soul beast. Jiang Ming later absorbed the captive Void Mantis supplied by Xue Qinghe and acquired his second soul ring. 19 20 23 24

After discovering that the three great families of Nuoding City had leveled his family’s ancestral cemetery for a scenic garden, Jiang Ming returned for revenge. He destroyed the pavilion built over the grave site and exterminated the Xiao, Liu, and Ling families, including City Lord Xiao Chen and his allies. 45 47 48 49 50 51 The massacre drew the attention of Martial Soul Hall and led many to label him an Evil Soul Master. 55

Jiang Ming later negotiated directly with Qian Daoliu and Golden Crocodile Douluo. In exchange for killing Clear Sky Sect members in the future, Qian Daoliu promised him spatial soul beasts, including a hundred-thousand-year specimen for the heads of Clear Sky Sect Title Douluo, and granted him access to Martial Soul Hall’s intelligence network. 102 103

He and Dugu Bo secured and killed the fifty-thousand-year Void Walker in the Void-Breaking Mountain Range despite interference from the Four Single-Attribute Clans. After absorbing its soul ring, Jiang Ming became a Soul King and developed the ability to confront multiple Title Douluo without being successfully restrained. 128 129 134 135 153 171 172

Personality

Jiang Ming is calm, calculating, and difficult to intimidate. He treats hostile displays of status or family influence with open contempt, often refusing to negotiate once an opponent has crossed a line. 22 26 50

He is highly pragmatic in combat, favoring positioning, misdirection, and lethal exploitation of an enemy’s weaknesses over direct exchanges. His spatial skills also allow him to remain composed against numerically superior opponents. 12 72 93 171

Jiang Ming is ruthlessly protective of grievances tied to family and ancestral dignity. The desecration of his family cemetery became the basis for his Nuoding City vendetta, and he showed no remorse afterward. 45 50 58

He values self-reliance over the protection of major factions. Though willing to form mutually beneficial arrangements with Xue Qinghe, Dugu Bo, and Qian Daoliu, he rejects dependence on any patron and sees struggle as necessary for growth. 102 103

Jiang Ming is manipulative when it serves his interests. He exploited Tang San’s desperation to extract the latter’s Blue Silver Emperor origin and intentionally publicized the Mysterious Heaven Skill to turn the continent’s major powers against Tang San. 183 195 199

Appearance

Jiang Ming is described as an ordinary-looking youth when confronting Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan. 26 At age thirteen, he appeared before the Nuoding City Lord with four soul rings. 47

  • Uses Soul Tool masks, including human-skin masks, to conceal or alter his appearance when necessary. 24 28
  • Spatial abilities are commonly accompanied by silver-gray or silvery-white light. 49 95
  • Was eleven years old upon reaching rank 40 and thirteen years old during the Nuoding City massacre. 43 47 58
  • By the Soul Master Tournament, he had become a Soul King. 184 193

Abilities & Skills

Space Martial Soul

Jiang Ming’s martial soul is spatial in nature, granting him manipulation over distance, rifts, compression, redirection, confinement, and spatial displacement. It is later referred to as the Void Walker Martial Soul. 1 11 134

  • Jiang Ming rejected Yu Xiaogang’s defensive cultivation route, maintaining that the Space type’s greatest potential lies in space itself rather than redundant defensive soul skills. 1
  • His spatial nature made him especially noticeable to spatial soul beasts. 11
  • His first soul ring granted Spatial Amplification, increasing the power of his spatial abilities by 50%. 45
  • His ring configuration was yellow, purple, black, black upon reaching Soul Ancestor level. 47 62
  • He can perceive distortions, density, texture, and occupancy in surrounding space, making conventional concealment ineffective against him. 65
  • His extensive hunting of spatial soul beasts allowed him to accumulate spatial origin and develop abilities that are exceptionally difficult to defend against. 138

Space Shift

Space Shift is Jiang Ming’s core movement and redirection technique. His martial soul possesses an innate form of short-range displacement, while his later Spatial Shift soul skill greatly improves its practical combat applications. 7 12 72

  • Teleports him across space, allowing him to evade attacks that conventional speed cannot avoid. 12 15 73
  • Initially had a range of only about half a meter and consumed nearly a third of his soul power with each use. 12
  • Can be used without activating a soul skill in its innate form. 71
  • Can redirect enemy attacks back onto their source, including Qin Ming’s sixth soul skill and the combined attack of Meng Shu and Chao Tianxiang. 62 117
  • Can switch the positions of other targets, allowing him to turn an enemy formation’s attacks against one of its own members. 171
  • Can disrupt coordinated formations, including the Golden Sacred Dragon’s Three-in-One Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 93
  • Transported Dugu Bo and the critically wounded Void Walker across a vast distance with minimal soul-power consumption. 129

Space Tear

Jiang Ming creates rifts that sever targets or attacks through space itself.

  • Demonstrated spatial cutting without a soul ring or soul skill by splitting Yu Xiaogang’s written notes in half from a distance. 1
  • Cut Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass by severing the space in which it existed rather than simply cutting the vines. 7 15 16
  • Defeated Dai Mubai and injured Xie Yue and Hu Liena by breaking their Demon Charm fusion. 23 60
  • Killed Xiao Chenyu and later used an Arc Slash combination to kill a Hell Demon Spider Soul Master. 48 89
  • Can be refined to extreme precision, forming a rift thinner than a needle tip. 16
  • Split the Blue Silver King’s Blue Silver Overlord Spear and killed the Blue Silver King. 187
  • Bypassed Niu Gao’s formidable defenses during the conflict in Star Luo City. 203

Space Compression

Jiang Ming compresses targets or objects with spatial force.

  • Massacred City Lord Mansion guards and crushed multiple opponents during the Nuoding City revenge. 48 49 50 51
  • Flattened Qin Ming’s arm before killing him. 63
  • Restrained and exhausted Zhao Wuji, forcing him to expend soul power and stamina to break free. 72
  • Crushed Speed Clan members who tried to shield Tai Tan. 135
  • Used spatial pressure to deform and torture Tang Ao after defeating him. 167

Spatial Stripping

His second soul skill dismantles matter or removes a portion of a target’s dimension. 24

  • Can remove a marked portion of space, allowing Jiang Ming to strip away effects such as Zhao Wuji’s Target Tracking. 71
  • Killed Zhao Wuji by removing a section of space containing his heart. 73
  • Bypassed the Nether Vine Soul Master’s Heavenly Net restraint. 89
  • Was prepared to strip away Zhao Wuji’s remaining Immovable Wisdom King Golden Light. 72
  • Was used to extract Yu Xiaogang’s martial soul origin and cripple him further. 94

Void Form

Void Form is Jiang Ming’s fifth soul skill and one of his most powerful survival abilities. 135 153

  • Temporarily shifts Jiang Ming into a spatial gap, making his body intangible and immune to physical and energy attacks. 153
  • Lasts for approximately three seconds but requires continuous maintenance of spatial power. 153
  • Allowed him to evade Yang Wudi’s Soul-Breaking Spear and Niu Gao’s defenses before counterattacking with the Void Blade. 135
  • Allowed him to ignore Yu Yuanzhen’s Thunder Shakes the Nine Heavens. 195

Void Blade

A silvery-white sword formed through Jiang Ming’s spatial power and External Soul Bone. 134 152

  • Severed Tai Tan’s left arm. 134
  • Killed Tai Tan after the latter’s attempt to drag Jiang Ming down with him. 135
  • Ignores conventional defensive barriers, cutting through Niu Gao’s layered shields as though they were paper. 135
  • Severed Clear Sky Sect Soul Douluo Tang Ao’s left arm. 163

Blue Silver Emperor Bloodline

Jiang Ming possesses the Blue Silver Emperor’s life force through the Seed of Life, Right Leg Bone, and later Tang San’s extracted bloodline. 13 43 183

  • The Seed of Life’s vitality repeatedly repaired his body during the dangerous absorption of his first soul ring. 13
  • The Right Leg Bone strengthened his physique sufficiently to support increasingly extreme soul-ring absorption. 43
  • He intends to use the bloodline to comprehend the origin of life and eventually combine it with his understanding of space. 184

Other Techniques

  • Jiang Ming can mimic the Clear Sky Sect’s Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique after observing Tang Hao use it. 187
  • He can withstand and counter the attacks of multiple Title Douluo through spatial positioning, rather than attempting to meet their attacks directly. 153 171 172
