Class D
The students in the class were abuzz with excitement and anxiety. Every so often, they checked their phones.
"Eh? Why?"
"...I don't know either. Should we refresh again?"
"No, still nothing?"
"What do we do? Am I going to get docked down to zero? No! Then I won't have any points at all!"
Words like these spread through Class D. It wasn't just Class D; Class C was the same.
Even Classes B and A were no different. The whole first year was in an uproar.
Classes B and A, however, were relatively calm, patiently waiting for their teachers to explain.
The students of Class D waited nervously for Teacher Chabashira, until the moment she stepped into the classroom.
"Teacher Sae! What happened to our points? We still had over 300 Class Points, didn't we? But we haven't received any points in our accounts!"
Ike sprang to his feet and said this to Teacher Chabashira, who had just entered the classroom.
Qiuyue: (No points came in because of the Sudo Incident. I recorded it using the wiretap in Sudo's phone.)
(At the very beginning, I planted a pinhole camera at the site of the Sudo incident in the Special Building and recorded it.)

"So this is why you're all so anxious? What if I told you that you'd been docked down to zero points?"
"N-no, that can't be! Absolutely not! We've all behaved ourselves in class!"
Hearing Teacher Chabashira, Ike panicked and denied it three times in a row.
Hirata grew a little worried too and cautiously asked Teacher Chabashira:
"Teacher... you're joking, right?"
"Yeah! Teacher Sae, you can't joke around like that!"
Qiuyue: (...She's definitely joking, right? I didn't know Chabashira was good at deadpan humor.)
(It was obvious if you thought about it for a second. There's no way they'd suddenly dock us over 300 Class Points without even the slightest warning.)
Watching the class panic, Teacher Chabashira seemed to find it boring. Perhaps she'd hoped someone would use their reason and figure out that what she'd said was impossible.
"...Never mind. Today is when Class Points are updated. As for why they haven't been issued, there was a delay due to some circumstances. The first-year points will be handed out a little later."
"I knew it, Teacher Sae. You were definitely joking with us."
"Teacher, you should probably make fewer jokes like that next time."
"Uh... The school actually made a mistake like this? Shouldn't it give us some compensation?"
Ike looked at Teacher Chabashira expectantly.

"Ike, you... have quite the imagination. But don't worry. The school will issue the points once this is over."
After saying that, Teacher Chabashira stopped paying attention to Ike and pinned the paper in her hand to the blackboard.

Class B: 946
Class C: 829
Class D: 375
Every class had gained at least 60 or more Class Points. Classes A and B had both increased by almost 100.
Horikita looked at how much farther ahead the classes above them had gotten and frowned.
"If this is all we get, we'll never catch up with the classes ahead of us. There must be other ways to increase Class Points."
Horikita muttered to herself, but most of the class paid close attention to her when it came to things like this.
So even though her voice wasn't loud, it still carried across the classroom.
When her words reached Ike's ears, the thickheaded boy immediately asked her:
"Other ways? Horikita, what are these ways to get more points?"
"What would you do if you knew?"
Horikita's brief but forceful reply left Ike speechless.
Qiuyue: (You don't know either, do you? Look at you putting on a show. You don't know, and you couldn't do anything about it even if you did. Typical arrogant woman...)
The atmosphere in the class grew strange. Nobody wanted to provoke Horikita, but they all wanted to know what she planned to do next.
After all, she'd managed to save Sudo from being expelled earlier.
On the surface, Hirata was now the leader of Class D. Most people didn't care for Horikita's personality, but they couldn't deny that she was genuinely capable.
If Horikita was willing to come up with strategies and make plans, most of them would probably follow them.
What they didn't know was that Horikita had no plan at all. She didn't know whether there were other ways to increase Class Points, either.
At the critical moment, Hirata stepped forward and broke the awkward silence.
"Um, Horikita, if everyone works together, we'll surely do better than if you keep agonizing over it on your own. So maybe you could try trusting your classmates."
Hirata stood among the group, and everyone looked at Horikita. Her expression remained unchanged.
She didn't even look up at Hirata. She simply stayed there in front of the whole class.
Qiuyue truly wanted to say that Horikita had impressive nerves.
After a while, Horikita finally relented and looked at Hirata.
"I don't have any ideas at this point."
That one sentence lifted the tension. The students in the class were both disappointed and relieved.
It was clear that some of them didn't really care whether they could make it to Class A. But since they could get more pocket money, why not?
Qiuyue: (The Sudo Incident is about to start. Next, we'll need to find eyewitnesses, right?)
