The moment Kaguya Clan stepped out of the black hole, the entire battlefield seemed to have its throat seized by an invisible hand.
Her feet touched the scorched black earth without making a sound. Her long white hair fell to her waist, and her white robe gleamed coldly beneath the blood-red moonlight. Her skin was so pale it was nearly translucent, faint blue veins visible beneath it. There was no expression on her face—not indifference, but disregard. Like someone looking at a colony of ants; not that she did not care, but that she did not think they were worth caring about at all.
But her brow was furrowed.
Only slightly, so faintly that one would barely notice without staring. Her brow twitched, then her head tilted slightly, as though she were catching a scent. Her gaze swept across the battlefield—over Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura, Minato, the Third Hokage; over Madara's withered body, the piled white cocoons, and the God Tree's shriveled vines. Her frown deepened.
"Chakra... there's too little of it."
Her voice was soft, so soft it sounded like she was talking to herself. Yet there was something strange in it—not anger, not disappointment, but the confusion of something that should not have been this way. Like someone awakened by an alarm clock, fumbling for their phone in the dark, only to find a cold stone.
Black Zetsu stirred within that black mass on the ground, then slithered over the earth like a snake. It crawled up Kaguya Clan's white robe and tucked itself into her sleeve. Its voice came from within, shrill and thin, like a wronged child complaining to its mother.
"Mother... the chakra... most of it was taken away."
Kaguya Clan's brow did not move. She lowered her head slightly and looked at her sleeve.
