Background / History

Minato earned widespread acclaim during the Third Shinobi World War. He was credited with destroying Kannabi Bridge, forcing Iwagakure's retreat, and repelling the newly enthroned Fourth Raikage; enemy forces reportedly regarded an encounter with him as grounds to abandon their mission. 12

Following his return to Konoha, Sarutobi Hiruzen unexpectedly abdicated and nominated Minato as the Fourth Hokage. The Daimyo had approved the appointment, and Konoha's civilians unanimously welcomed it. Minato accepted the office with a vow to bring Konoha final victory. 12
