Background
Bell trained daily from the age of four under Shi Fu, whom he calls Master. Shi Fu was originally a bodiless soul from another world attached to Bell; after Bell received a Falna, Shi Fu manifested as the unidentified Skill on Bell’s Status. 145 153
He entered Orario without a Falna and declared his goal of becoming a hero. After briefly considering the Loki and Freya Familias, he accepted Hestia’s invitation and became the first member of the Hestia Familia. 144 145
Appearance
Bell is a white-haired young man with red eyes, a broad back, and a notably well-trained physique from years of daily exercise. 144 145 167
- His body can be covered by a thin layer of white, transforming armor responsive to his Qi and blood. 155
- When Shi Fu takes control, Bell’s hair tips darken and the centers of his red eyes turn black, giving the impression that two presences share one body. 167
- His combat states often manifest as white radiance, holy fire, or fused white light flames. 162 180 188
Personality
Bell is polite, earnest, and unusually open toward strangers. He trusts Hestia immediately, seeks Eina’s advice before taking deeper risks, and treats allies and supporters with respect. 145 146 158
His defining ambition is to become a hero. Bell repeatedly intervenes for people in danger despite the consequences: he helps Lili after discovering her deception, rescues Haruhime from the Ishtar Familia, protects Wiene and the Xenos, and insists on accompanying Ryu into the Deep Floors. 159 185 195 217
He is compassionate without being passive. Bell favors purification and restraint over killing when possible, but he will fight decisively against those who threaten his companions or exploit others. 174 195 203
Abilities & Skills
Falna and Qi Refining
Bell’s Falna is abnormal even by Orario standards. Its growth conversion rapidly turns his previous training into ability values, while Qi Refining raises his Qi and enhances every basic attribute. 145 147 148
- Raises ability values and their growth caps.
- Provides growth correction and slightly accelerates stat growth.
- Enhances resistance to abnormal statuses and continuously weakens their effects.
- Improves self-healing and automatically restores stamina and mental strength. 145
- Allows Bell to perceive Qi, track monsters, and identify individuals by their “Root.” 149 194 216
- His healing is rapid enough to recover severe burns and corrosive injuries while continuing to travel through the Deep Floors. 219 220
Unidentified Skill and Shi Fu
Bell’s original [??] Skill cannot be interpreted by the Falna. It houses Shi Fu, his otherworldly Master, who can communicate mentally, teach him in a mental space, and temporarily control Bell’s body. 145 153 154
- Shi Fu carries more than a hundred abilities and considers himself an “Inheritor” responsible for passing them on. 154
- Shi Fu’s influence greatly accelerates Bell’s growth after level increases. 175
- Bell receives training, techniques, and eventually sealed memories through Shi Fu’s mental space. 165 176 221
- Shi Fu departs after calling Bell’s Deep Floor expedition his “graduation exam,” releasing Bell’s stored memories and causing another level-up. 221
Argonaut
Argonaut charges active actions, allowing Bell to amplify physical techniques, Qi manipulation, armor functions, and magic combinations. 157 180
- It can charge attacks, movement, and the process of mixing Qi with holy fire. 157 188
- Bell learns to charge Skills instantly under Shi Fu’s instruction. 188
- It can enhance all basic abilities, including the Qi abilities produced through Qi Refining. 180
Limit Break
Limit Break is Argonaut’s strongest documented activation state. It temporarily lets Bell exceed his level cap by roughly two levels. 187
- While Lv.2, Bell could exert approximately Lv.4 power before adding his Qi and holy fire enhancements. 187 188
- The state consumes substantial stamina and Qi, making prolonged use unsustainable. 187
- Bell used it to contest Phryne after she was boosted to Lv.6. 187 188
Argo Vesta
Argo Vesta is Bell’s no-chant magic, awakened from a Falna pattern left by Vesta. It creates holy fire that purifies curses, negative emotions, and abnormal mental or physical states. 169
- Buffs Bell by increasing all basic abilities and adding fire damage to his attacks.
- Can be applied to allies, increasing their basic abilities and giving their attacks fire damage.
- Consumes mental energy continuously while active.
- Its effect scales with the intensity of the flames. 169
- Bell used it to bolster frightened adventurers against monsters and to support Ryu during their pursuit of Jaro. 171 217
- Its holy fire helps Bell resist and purge Ishtar’s Charm authority. 190 191
White Light Flame
Bell can use Argonaut to deeply combine Qi and Argo Vesta, creating White Light Flame. 188
- Appears at the instant of impact to block attacks, negate force, or strengthen strikes.
- Enabled Bell to overwhelm Phryne after Shi Fu took control of his body. 188
- Forms the basis of his Argo... Vesta finishing state against Hyacinthus. 180
Hero Ring
Hero Ring is Bell’s combat technique that creates light spheres which expand into rings to accelerate his body, punches, and recovery motions. 203
- Allows sudden bursts of movement comparable to teleportation.
- Can accelerate individual strikes and amplify their impact just before contact.
- Places heavy strain on Bell’s body; using too many spheres risks injury. 203
- Bell used it to defeat Dix, cross the Transcendent Arena with Ryu, and break through the Black Goliath’s defenses. 203 208 220
Collapse Force
Hero Ring: Collapse Force is a large-scale shockwave attack. 208
- Bell used it against the Black Goliath after Mikoto restrained the monster with gravity magic.
- The attack destroyed much of the Black Goliath’s upper body and exposed part of its Magic Stone for Lili to finish. 208
Martial Arts and Craftsmanship
Bell learned practical combat techniques from Shi Fu before receiving a Falna and continues to refine them through battle. 145 150
- Penetrating Force — A power-exertion technique Bell teaches to the Loki Familia; it is learnable rather than a personal Skill. 150
- Transforming-armament combat — He adapts his armor into blades, gauntlets, and other forms according to the situation. 155 156
- Smithing — Bell develops forging skill under Shi Fu’s guidance, producing custom equipment for Loki Familia members such as Gareth. 168 212
- Golden Light Mantra — Bell learns to cover himself in golden light, easing discomfort and improving his Qi control; he later chooses to teach it to Lili. 211
Equipment
- Basic armor — Purchased through a Guild loan before Bell’s first Dungeon entry. 145
- Transforming armor / magical artifact — Forged by Shi Fu using Bell’s Qi and blood; it is light, reacts to Bell’s thoughts and Qi, and can become weapons or reinforce specific body parts. 155 156
- Magic-absorption function — The armor can absorb portions of magical attacks, including the flames of a magic sword, though its limits are not absolute. 159 180
Relationships
- Hestia — Patron goddess and the first person to recruit Bell in Orario. Bell trusts her completely, while Hestia is fiercely protective of him and worries about the attention his abnormal growth attracts. 144 145 147
- Shi Fu — Bell’s Master, mentor, and former attached soul. Shi Fu trained Bell since childhood, advises him telepathically, teaches him techniques in the mental space, and eventually leaves after declaring Bell’s training complete. 153 154 221
- Liliruca Arde — Bell’s supporter, student, and Hestia Familia companion. Bell sees through Lili’s initial attempt to exploit him but helps her leave the Soma Familia; he later teaches her Qi Refining and supports her development. 158 159 161 165
- Welf — Blacksmith companion and Hestia Familia member. Welf seeks Bell’s help with magic swords, then joins Bell’s Dungeon party and assists in battles such as the Black Goliath fight. 170 172 173 208
- Eina Zul — Bell’s half-elf Guild advisor. She teaches him Dungeon basics and urges him not to take unnecessary risks. 146 147
- Ais Wallenstein — Loki Familia adventurer whom Bell meets after defeating a Minotaur. She asks him to teach her Penetrating Force, and Bell later comforts her during the Monster Festival. 149 150 155
- Haruhime — Bell resolves to rescue her from the Ishtar Familia and later persuades Hestia and Lili to accept her into the Hestia Familia. 185 191 192
- Wiene — A Dragon Girl and Xenos whom Bell rescues on the 19th Floor. He treats her as a person rather than a monster and protects her from hostile adventurers. 194 195 196
- Ryu — Bell shares Shi Fu’s secret with Ryu while helping pursue Jaro. They survive the Deep Floors together, with Bell repeatedly protecting her and Ryu relying on his abilities. 216 217 220 221
