Background / History

Tang Wulin arrives in Eastsea City as a Grade One, Class Five student with Blue Silver Grass, regarding himself as inferior to the Class One geniuses Ji Fengyu and Xie Xie. Despite this insecurity, he immediately feels an unusual familial affinity toward Ji Fengyu and joins him and Xie Xie in registering at Eastsea Academy 1 2.

His immense physical strength quickly distinguishes him from ordinary students. During Wu Zhangkong's testing, Tang Wulin breaks a wooden sword with his Heavy Silver Hammer and displays strength that surprises his teacher 8. Ji Fengyu's amplification later triggers a violent release of Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon King bloodline, transforming his appearance and greatly increasing his combat power 13.

Within his Sea of Spirit, Tang San's divine sense reveals that the Golden Dragon King is sealed inside Tang Wulin by eighteen progressive seals. Its overwhelming power will kill Tang Wulin if released unchecked, while Ji Fengyu's Rainbow Dragon resonance accelerates the seals' weakening 13. Tang Wulin attempts to distance himself from Ji Fengyu, but his bloodline develops an extreme dependence on Ji Fengyu's aura; without it, his vitality rapidly drains away 14. He ultimately accepts that he must receive Ji Fengyu's amplification daily despite the accelerated danger to his life 15.

Tang Wulin and Ji Fengyu later discover their Martial Soul Fusion Skill and begin cultivating through the Golden Wind Power, which increases their cultivation speed by at least threefold. He becomes anxious at the prospect of separation and even plans to keep Ji Fengyu's discarded clothing and bedding during a holiday so that he can endure the absence 51 52 53.

He is straightforward in battle and eagerly seeks tests of strength, particularly against powerful opponents or strength-type soul beasts 29 96. His emotions can also fuel his combat power: Wu Zhangkong observes that Tang Wulin becomes stronger while guarding Ji Fengyu, facing threats, or being provoked by Gu Yue 73.
