Winning three matches is the mandatory requirement to become a professional Soul Card Master, and the tier you are ranked at depends on the highest-tiered opponent you defeat.

Although the Ranking Tournament can only be taken once, it is the fastest way for a Soul Card Master to increase their tier. After the Ranking Tournament, if you want to increase your tier, you must accumulate enough points before you can apply for a Tier-up Tournament. In the Tier-up Tournament, there is no opportunity to choose the difficulty. The Soul Card Association will randomly select five professional Soul Card Masters of the target tier for you. If you win, you successfully increase your tier; if you lose, please try again next time.

Therefore, many professional guides particularly emphasize the importance of the Ranking Tournament, and this is also a benefit of being admitted to a Duel Academy. If you are not a student of a Duel Academy, you must accumulate enough points in officially recognized amateur duel competitions before applying to the Soul Card Association for ranking.
