Hearing of Claude's exploits, Alice expressed shock.

Shen Sui covered his face speechlessly.

Fine, looks like he would have to rebuild trust from scratch.

But Alice did not believe those rumors.

Alice thought Claude was a good person.

The person who had saved Alice could not possibly be a bad person!

Shen Sui was somewhat moved. It seemed his protection over the past few days had not been in vain.

Alice asked you about those exploits.

Baris Price, Lady of Daybreak's paladin, the strongest holy paladin on the Dawn Continent, a pure and proud Saintess.

She was actually one of the game's romanceable characters. However, in this playthrough, Shen Sui, as Claude, was wholeheartedly focused on conquering Vivian, the final missing piece of the character collection, so he had not pursued her. He had merely used his experience from a previous playthrough to recruit the paladin as his teammate.

In the storyline where Lady of Daybreak was killed, it was Baris's betrayal that dealt the killing blow to Daybreak.

You told Alice of Baris Price's exploits.

Alice met Oshana once again.

Oshana expressed her admiration for her ancestor Baris and stated that Baris had been Lady of Daybreak's most loyal knight. She hoped Alice would not insult her ancestor.

Alice was slightly confused. She performed Barbecue Art and apologized to Oshana.

Oshana forgave Alice. Her favorability toward Alice increased.

Alice and Oshana became close friends.

Alice asked about the villain and Fern Ze Lai.

Oshana generously explained, "The villain wishes to participate in the Sinful Festival, which will be held in a month and a half."

Oshana voiced her confusion. "Fern Ze Lai is already dead. His grandfather, the sixth-tier magician Rhine Ze Lai, appears to be investigating the murderer."

Alice used Barbecue Art.

Oshana had no more questions.

Shen Sui's head was full of question marks.

Shen Sui was beginning to admire Alice's constitution. A two-star Novice Magician could actually draw a ten-star Spell Card. No wonder Duel Exam guides often said one had to guide Soul Cards into causing trouble. Only by causing trouble could they obtain Spell Cards that exceeded the Soul Card's own strength.

This card was not weak. It even sent Shen Sui into wild delight. There was no need to modify it; this card could be used directly.

After raising Oshana's favorability, Alice finally remembered that she seemed to have something else to do. When the morning sun rose, Alice bid Oshana farewell. Oshana Price temporarily left, but Shen Sui's doubts about the Prices did not fade. No matter which playthrough it was, the storyline of Baris betraying Daybreak had always been a key part of the main plot. Why, then, had Oshana said Baris was Lady of Daybreak's most loyal knight?

This should have been a major event that shook the continent back then, right? There had never been any hidden plots in the storylines Shen Sui played through; they had all been earthshaking.

What had happened over the past thousand years? Why did people now have such mistaken understandings of history?

Alice saw Oshana off, then called out to Harley, who had been hiding.

Harley?

Oh, that Silver Moon Wolf King.

Only then did Shen Sui remember. He had been so busy getting angry over being slandered that he had forgotten Alice seemed to have gained a fairly decent follower.

The Silver Moon Wolf King was a five-star magical beast in the game. It was not especially powerful, but there seemed to be something odd about this wolf king named Harley.

Shen Sui stroked his chin and observed it for a long while before finally figuring out what was wrong!

Why did this wolf king look so much like a husky?

Harley greeted Alice. Harley greeted you.

Hm? It could see me? Not so simple after all.

Silver Moon Wolves were naturally submissive toward the strong. Unfortunately, Alice's follower's follower was not Shen Sui's follower. Otherwise, Silver Moon Wolves alone would have been enough for Shen Sui to fill an entire deck with Follower Cards.

Looking at Harley, Alice came up with a plan.

Alice gave all of Fern Ze Lai's belongings to Harley and had it quickly head in the opposite direction, reminding it to avoid humans.

Alice requested that you teach Harley magic.

Shen Sui naturally saw that Alice intended to lure Rhine Ze Lai away. Back in Pa Yin Jia City, she had been forced to fight back, so many matters had left clear traces. It would not be difficult for a sixth-tier magician to track her down.

Alice's most important task right now was to go to the City of Sin and save Anna. She had no time to get entangled with Rhine, whom she had never met, so she planned to have Harley lure him away.

But she did not want the magical beast she had tamed to die, so she wanted me to teach it magic?
