Background / History

Xiao Yan founded the Tian Shu Alliance in Yan City after deciding to turn his growing personal power, alchemical resources, and allied factions into a lasting organization. Xiao Ding approved the name for its association with “power and wealth” as well as wisdom, leadership, and administration. The alliance’s original senior structure placed Xiao Ding and Hai Bodong as the first two elders, with Sixth-Rank Alchemist Gu He appointed as an elder beneath them. 169

Its initial influence rested on Yan Xiao’s reputation, Hai Bodong’s Dou Zong strength, Gu He’s alchemy, and the forces connected to it, including the Eight-Fan Sect, Earth Flame Sect, Mittel Family, and Jia Ma Imperial Family. The simultaneous launch of the Vientiane Auction House made Yan City a commercial center and gave the alliance a mechanism for gathering wealth, information, and rare resources. 169

The Black Emperor Sect’s accession marked a major political expansion. Rather than dissolving its business, the sect retained autonomy and was promised responsibility for auction operations in the Black-Corner Region and nearby empires.
