Background

Defense of the Snake-People Holy City

Before her direct appearance, Medusa had already taken the Green Lotus Core Flame, leaving behind a Seven-Colored Snake Scale in the Tagor Great Desert. The attempt to subdue the Heavenly Flame injured her and left her aura unstable. 22 25

When human Dou Emperors entered the Snake-People Holy City to seize both the Green Lotus Core Flame and the Wind Fury Dragon Flame, Medusa refused to yield. She and four Snake-People elders defended the city, but were overwhelmed by the larger human force; Medusa's injuries worsened when the elders' barrier was broken. 25 26

Lin Chen's intervention prevented the destruction of the tribe. Though wary of him, Medusa accepted that he had saved the Snake-People from extermination and allowed him access to the Holy City's inner palace. 27 28

First Evolution

After receiving a recovery pill from Lin Chen, Medusa agreed to owe him a favor in exchange for a promised perfect evolution. Lin Chen used the Red Lotus Karma Fire to purge her bloodline impurities, condense her essence, and reshape her as a Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python. 30 31

She remained asleep while her spirit and body fused. Her python form later absorbed energy from the infant Fallen Heart Flame and awakened, completing the evolution as a three-star Dou Ancestor. 41 42 43

The Fallen Heart Flame briefly disturbed Medusa's emotions after her awakening, but Lin Chen purified the lingering influence. She thereafter chose to remain at his side until his faction was established, while retaining her characteristic pride and independence. 43

Founding of the Snake-Person Empire

Medusa accompanied Lin Chen during the war against the Chu Yun, Luo Yan, and Mu Lan empires. Following the coalition's defeat, Lin Chen designated ceded territory as the Snake-Person Empire and named Medusa its first Empress, providing her people with fertile lands beyond the Tagor Great Desert. 44

Although she held the throne, Medusa entrusted much of the new empire's administration to the Snake-People elders so she could continue accompanying Lin Chen. She later joined him and Zi Yan on the expedition for the Nether Poison Fire and the purge of the Black-Corner Region. 45 46

Nine-Colored Evolution

Lin Chen left Medusa on East Dragon Island for protection and cultivation while he traveled alone through the Beast Domain. Over the following year, her cultivation reached the peak of the Dou Ancestor realm and her Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python bloodline became increasingly pure. 58 63

Lin Chen then took her to the Nine Nether Deep Earth Python Clan's Nine Nether Yellow Spring. He refined the Grade Nine Nine-Turn Nether Phoenix Blood-Tempering Pill for her, allowing her to refine the Yellow Spring's energy and fully awaken her bloodline. 64 65

Medusa ultimately emerged as a Nine-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python, bearing a far more powerful and noble aura. 78

Ascension and Marriage

After Lin Chen reached the Dou Di realm and opened the Emperor's Path, Medusa received resources intended to support her own advancement. She later achieved Dou Di and ascended to the Great Thousand World alongside Zi Yan, Xiao Yi Xian, Qing Lin, and Xiao Xun'er. 81 82

Five years after Lin Chen's ascension, Medusa reunited with him in the Suspended God City. She became one of his five dao companions and married him in a ceremony attended by countless major factions and experts. 82
